Things went smoother during the rest of our vacation. The boys ended up having a great time; even Saint who was becoming more distant smiled a few times. Except for in photos. Heaven forbid Saint smiled in a photo.
We'd become a trending topic with the media, details about our relationship were so sought after that there were paparazzi at every person's house who was ever associated with us. The media found out about Judai being a high society stock broker and looked for her client list which they couldn't find since everyone's lawyer had a confidentiality clause in their contracts. The only things they did know was that my wife was rich and beautiful. One tabloid even made allegations that this was a marriage of convenience since we both went far back. We laughed especially hard at that one.
Pete made the suggestion of us doing an interview with AP in one of their conversation segments which Judai thought was a good idea. They immediately sent out a reporter to Rio.
We sat across the man in our hotel room and he began the interview. "Here Here we have Joe Trohman, guitarist and backing vocalist for Fall Out Boy and The Damned Things as well as lead vocalist for With Knives. Along with him is his beautiful wife, Judai Berman; a successful stock broker."
I interrupted, "It's Judai Trohman. She has taken my surname."
The reporter laughed, "In a shocking twist, Mrs Trohman is actually Mrs. Trohman. Not something we hear of much nowadays. Judai, tell us about you and Joe. Was this a "love at first sight" scenario or is there more than we bargained for?"
She giggled, "Nice one. Actually, Joe and I have been friends since I was thirteen and he was fourteen. We both never worked up the guts as teenagers to start a relationship and we've been dancing around one another ever since. Then when we did decide to give it a go, I guess, and I speak for myself, I just knew I never wanted to be with anyone else again. When he suggested a shotgun wedding, I was all in."
The reporter then turned to Joe, "A lot of people thought this was a marriage of either coercion or convenience. What are your thoughts on that?"
I shrugged, "People can think a lot of things that are extremely far from the truth. I proposed to Judai and I was the one who insisted on a fast marriage because, frankly, I've been in love with the woman for most of my life and I felt I was ready for a commitment of this magnitude."
The reporter nodded, "Do you two have any plans for children as yet?"
We both laughed and Judai answered for me, "I think right now we both have our hands full but in the future I'd love to be a mom. I love Bronx and Saint to bits and they like hanging out with me so I think I'd be a good mom."
The reporter then touched on the leaking of the wedding information. "Saint Wentz is the person responsible for leaking news of your wedding. He's also dyed his hair black and started wearing eye liner. A younger Pete Wentz. What are your feelings towards this."
I tackled this question, "Saint is expressing himself and any further comment on him and the difficult time he's going through will be made by him or his father. We love the boys no matter what and can't wait for Patrick's son to join our family."
He then asked about Judai and her job, "I'm managing stock portfolios currently for a very private and discreet clientele list so I'm unable to go in depth but it has lightened my work load and allowed me to do my job with a lot more mobility so I spend the maximum amount of time possible with Joe."
The reporter nodded then did his outro for the segment and shook our hands. "Thank you Mr and Mrs Trohman. You two are such a pleasant couple. I hope to interview you again soon."
I let the reporter out then grabbed Judai by the waist and kissed her, "Well done on your first interview Mrs Trohman. You're so mature like. Definitely good when your husband's a child."
She giggled and wrapped her arms around my neck, "Oh I can think of a few things you do that are far from childish."
I caught onto her drift and nuzzled her neck, trailing butterfly kisses all the way to the top of her shirt which was dangerously low cut. Just then, a soft knock interrupted us. I growled lowly and went over to the door. Pete.
"What is it man? I'm busy!"
"I needed a favour."
I opened the door, "Yeah? What's up?"
Pete waved at Judai, "How'd your first interview go JudiPlum?"
She inclined her head, "Meh, it was okay. They asked about Saint but we reverted to the old, "No comment," tactic. What'd you need to ask us for?"
"Do you think you could do something with the kids tonight? I wanted to explore a bit and just have some time out. The journal you gave me has been really therapeutic and I just need a breather."
Judai nodded, "Sure sweety. I'm glad it helped a little. Send them over right away. I know just what we're going to do."
Soon the boys and Judai were off to the supermarket to buy some ingredients for tortilla wraps and a movie night. Judai, being the dutiful wife she was, brought me back some beer and cigarettes as well since her and I had started sharing mine. It was weird having to share my space and my stuff at first but I was getting the hang of the whole "what's yours is mine and what's mine is yours" thing.
As Saint and Judai drifted off to sleep in the middle of a Simpsons marathon; Saint surprisingly at rest in Judai's arms, Bronx nudged me to look. "Uncle Joe, do you think I'll ever get a girlfriend as awesome as Aunt Judai?"
I winked, "Sure buddy. She's got a niece about your age. Want a number?"
He blushed, "Yeah, I'll ask Aunt Judai first in the morning."
Not wanting to rouse Saint from the first rest he had gotten in a while, I threw a blanket over the sleeping duo and told Bronx to take the spare bed, then climbed into the bed I usually shared with Judai smiling. Today had been amazing.
