"Wait for me!" I ran to my friend. It's the first day of school. I am Fawn Sanders. Entering into the life of grade 11. Parisa Cail is my best friend. She is entering the same grade 11 life as I am. A new and fresh start.
Life for me has always been mysterious, and I guess it has for everyone else, but today felt different. I can't imagine I'm already in grade 11. Many of my other friends are so eagar and ready to have another year of excitement while I on the other hand am upset. I'm upset about the fact that I'm getting old and starting to discover new things in life. Something I don't want to encounter in misery or failure. Why is my heart aching? What was going to happen?
"I'm waiting! Hurry up! Fast! !" She yells. I just snapped out of my thoughts by her loud cranky voice. I sigh, sometimes she annoys me but I love her. I run to her leaving my thoughts back.
"Excited?" she asks me.
"I guess, you?"
"Homework," she says sadly. I mean tell me no one likes homework right?
"More than an hour..." I reply
"Mrs. Lane"
"Yeah," I say sighing.
We enter the school. We see a lot of random and familiar faces around us. We go to the big whiteboard in the middle of the cafeteria. It has the list of what homeroom class we will be in this year.
"Parisa...201," Parisa says scanning the paper she is looking at, "Fawn 201!" yells Parisa. We both hug in excitement. WE BOTH ARE IN THE SAME CLASS, FINALLY! I and Parisa weren't together in the same homeroom last year. Now we are together. We stroll our class list down curious to see who else we know is in our class.
"Meena is in our class," I say. Parisa hesitantly was about to say something.
"Matthew," she says quietly.
"Your lying!" I yell. I look at the list. I'm shocked. Oh no, Matthew Lewis, is the boy that is known to be chaotic and has severe anger issues including being annoying and spoiled. Even despite that girls go crazy over him and drool over him. He isn't even that handsome. My jaw drops. I was so thankful he wasn't in my earlier classes before but now I am in the same HOMEROOM with him. I sigh.
"Good luck to you," Parisa says.
"What do you mean?" I ask her dumbfounded.
"I'm fine because I am the quiet kid. No one annoys me or notices me while you..." she looks at me head to toe. Here we go again, she's trying to act sarcastic.
"Argh" I scoff. I am a kid who gets easily annoyed and has a BIG HUGE mouth, so life for me is just not going to be great. Let's just hope I don't get in fights with him like Jayden. He left the school. FINALLY. I laugh at the thought of him. He is the only one that would annoy me while the others are even scared to talk to me.
Somehow I always have the ability to attract people into hating me. Neither it is in my studies nor my personality, people just come to piss me off all the time. I am a simple smart girl, even though I am chill about everything in my life some people envy me and start competing with me. Well, I'm not saying I am not competitive. I am very competitive when it comes to sports and games but I'm a positive person about it.
RING. There goes the bell. I and Parisa walk upstairs and try to find our homeroom class. When we enter we see benches that three people can sit on. We both select a bench in the second front of the left side. One is free next to me. Hopefully, no one sits there. Students enter and enter, some in groups, some alone, some finding seats, and some leaning on tables talking to one another. Some are people I know from my past classes.
Then enters a lady who seems to be in her mid 20's. She is tall and has brown shiny skin and a pretty smile plastered on her face. I assume she is our homeroom teacher. She goes and settles in her chair behind her desk. She sits there for some time. I look at the time. Right now it is 9:15. I guess she is waiting for everyone to come in and settle before we start.
Four minutes later
"Hello, class! I will be your homeroom teacher. My name is Samantha Kumar. Please call me Ms. Kumar." She said smiling. We all nod. She seems nice. "So why don't we all introduce ourselves?" she says. "I'll start. My name is Samantha Kumar and I enjoy pop music and I love puppies! Like aren't they cute?". We are nod. I love dogs! They are my favourite animal. I enjoy all animals but dogs are my number one favourite. I guess it runs in the family. My dad and all my siblings love dogs. My mom prefers cats over dogs.
People in front of us have started introducing themselves. They seem nice. I guess. Then Parisa was asked to introduce herself, which she didn't want to do but had to. She finished by saying how she is a K-drama fan. The main reason why I and Parisa are besties is that we love K-drama or K-pop. I am usually into K-pop than K-dramas. I have watched several of them but not as much as Parisa has watched. She is an addict. Then.
"Oh welcome. Find yourself a sit" Ms. Kumar says smiling at someone at the door. I look at the door. It's Matthew; tall, annoying, cold-faced. I don't think his cold face is going to last anytime soon. ARGH!
He looks around for a seat. I just remembered I have an empty seat next to me. OH NO DO NOT SIT NEXT TO ME!
"There is a seat next to that girl please go take a seat over there." Ms. Kumar says. NO NO NO NO. She points at me. "Oh! I am very sorry. I should not be pointing. Sorry, dear." She says to me. I feel like hating her because she wants Matthew to sit next to me but I can't. I
"It's okay," I say softly. I like this teacher.
"Can't I sit somewhere else?" he asks in his deep voice. Bro, does it seem like I want to sit next to you? I don't sit next to PESTS!
"Nope. That's the only seat available dear. Go take a sit." He walks over to the bench I sit in and sits next to me. Poor Ms. Kumar she seems so nice. She does NOT deserve someone like him to be in her class.
Parisa nudges me. She gives me a teasing smile. I give her a kill you look and she stopped."Dear why don't you introduce yourself?" she looks over at me. ARGHHHHHHH.
"Uhm my name is Fawn Sanders. I like Soccer." I say a bit quiet than I usually talk. She gives me a *that's it?" look and I nod to her.
"You?" She looks at Matthew. Oh no the pest.
"Pest talking alert" I whisper to Parisa. Parisa chuckles.
"My name is Matthew Lewis. I like to listen to music" I scoff silently. And annoy people. Argh.
"Me too!" Ms. Kumar says.
Other students in the class continue to introduce themselves. And when everyone is done. She went through her rules. I was zoned out and well I am a good student so no need to listen to the rules. I am in deep thought wondering how I was going to live my grade 11 stressful study life with people I just can't get along with. I turn around to look to my left and I see Matthew staring and me.
"Uhm" I give him an unwanted smile.
"Mhm," he smiles. I turn away. That was weird. Believe me, we aren't going to be the best together. Sorry, Jayden but you man are going to get replaced this year.
