I never thought I would consider my enemy as a friend. That never happened. Not even with Jayden, except when it came for gym. Matthew makes me feel like being in a friendship that is entertaining, joyful, happy surrounded, and caring. I don't need to worry about anything. Even Uriah reminds me of an unselfish boy who would be there for you anytime you want. Not going to lie but I was jealous of him because I thought that he would steal Parisa away from me like replacing me but now I understand what Parisa felt. It was friendship, not love. I was kinda overprotective with it as well. I would kill him if he did. But aside from Uriah who doesn't have problems with me. Maybe like what Parisa did I can just be Matthew's friend and avoid problems? Have a peaceful year! Make new friends to enjoy life with. Have a great high school life and not regret it.
I am in the now classroom shivering from the rain. Parisa and Matthew hug me. I sit there like I am squished between two people.
"Let me go" I push them off. Parisa laughs.
"It started to get cold when it started to rain," Parisa says. She is shivering herself.
"Yeah," Matthew replies.
"You guys are still coming to my party right?" Parisa asks with a sad face.
"Of course." I and Matthew say at the same time. Uriah enters the classroom. He was talking with Benjamin outside. Benjamin follows Uriah into class avoiding eye contact with Matthew, me, and Parisa, and settles down behind us with Uriah. I and Parisa turn towards Uriah and smile at him. He smiles back. Benjamin looks at us and we give him a friendly smile.
"Benjamin, can I talk to you?" I ask. Matthew looks at me confused. Benjamin looks at me and then at Matthew. He gives Matthew a death glare and then nods to me. We go out and Parisa follows us. I don't mind I need Parisa. We have a free period right now. Some are in class and some leave.
We wait till everyone is gone. I feel bad for Benjamin. I look at Parisa for her to start. And she does.
"See Benjamin I get it, you lost. And that's not wrong. Everyone loses but that doesn't mean we need to stop fighting. I mean like I'm NOT telling you to fight with Matthew but like there's nothing to be embarrassed about. What I mean by not stopping fighting is that don't give up, try and do your thing. LIKE A DECENT EXAMPLE HERE would be if you fail a test, you will try to improve."
"It's easy for you to say. He has always been better than me! His parents and mine are family friends. It's annoying but we hate each other. Somehow he always proves he is better than me. I don't know how. How am I not capable of doing the things he can!" Benjamin says. I can see he is about to tear up. Parisa hugs him.
"We came into this world for a reason. We can only worry about things we can control. This world is polluted with jealousy and competition. Why? But we, every individual have a way to change that and act as we want to. I don't think Matthew is racing with you. He's just being himself." I say. He glares at me.
"Easy for you to say! YOU ARE HIS FRIEND!" He yells.
"I hate him," I say calmly.
"I will prove that I am better than him." He says looking at me. I and Parisa look at each other this isn't going to work out.
"Okay let's leave that. Uhm today is my birthday. I would like it if you come over." Parisa says. I look at her. Not gonna happen, Matthew is going to be at the party.
Benjamin looks at Parisa and hesitates. I look at him. He then nods. He smiles at us both and leaves. He walks towards the washrooms. We should give him his time.
We walk inside the classroom and I notice Matthew's mad. It's easy to figure out if he is mad or not. He is so bad at faking how he feels. Uriah is sitting in my seat patting Matthew's back. I go stand in from of him and give what is it look and he shakes his head. That explains that he is saying that Matthew is mad. Matthew looks up at me and glares at him.
