----Hyunjin had been teaching at Felix’s school for nearly two years, and in that time, he had gained a reputation for being an approachable but professional teacher. His art classes were popular, his lessons filled with passion and energy. But despite his outwardly friendly demeanor, Hyunjin kept his personal life strictly separate from work.
Felix, on the other hand, was a quiet student, excelling in some subjects while struggling in others. It wasn’t that he wasn’t trying—math just wasn’t his thing. So, when his grades began to slip, the school assigned Hyunjin as his tutor.
At first, their sessions were simple, professional. Hyunjin would sit with Felix after school in an empty classroom, guiding him through equations and breaking things down in ways that made sense. Felix appreciated Hyunjin’s patience, and slowly, what started as awkward tutoring sessions became more relaxed. They began to talk about things beyond school—hobbies, music, even personal stories.
Each day, they grew closer.
Felix found himself looking forward to their tutoring sessions in ways he hadn’t expected. Hyunjin wasn’t just his teacher anymore; he was someone Felix felt comfortable around, someone who made him laugh and who understood him in ways that few others did. Felix’s heart would race a little whenever Hyunjin leaned in close to explain something, and he began to wonder if those feelings were more than just admiration.
---
One afternoon, everything changed.
They had finished their tutoring session for the day, but neither of them made a move to leave. Felix lingered at the desk, and Hyunjin leaned against the whiteboard, casually chatting about something that had happened in class. The air between them felt different, charged with something unspoken.
“I’m really grateful for your help, Hyunjin,” Felix said quietly, his eyes flicking up to meet Hyunjin’s.
Hyunjin smiled warmly. “You’ve been putting in the effort. You’re improving a lot.”
There was a moment of silence, and Felix couldn’t stop himself from asking, “Do you ever think about… crossing lines? Doing things you shouldn’t?”
The question hung in the air between them, thick with tension. Hyunjin’s smile faltered slightly, his gaze searching Felix’s face for something. He took a step closer, just enough for Felix to feel the warmth radiating off of him.
“I think about it more than I should,” Hyunjin finally admitted, his voice low.
Felix’s heart skipped a beat. Before he could talk himself out of it, he closed the small gap between them, his hand brushing against Hyunjin’s. The touch was tentative, testing the waters.
Hyunjin hesitated for only a second, then leaned down and pressed his lips to Felix’s. The kiss was soft at first, hesitant, but it quickly deepened. Felix’s hands found their way to Hyunjin’s collar, pulling him closer as the intensity between them grew. The room felt too small, the world around them fading away until all that existed was the heat of their kiss, the forbidden excitement thrumming through them.
But then, the sound of a door creaking open snapped them back to reality.
They pulled apart quickly, hearts racing as they turned to see Jisung standing frozen in the doorway. Felix’s stomach dropped. Jisung’s eyes widened in shock, his mouth opening and closing as if he was trying to find the right words.
“Jisung—” Felix started, panic creeping into his voice.
Jisung blinked, processing the scene in front of him. But then, instead of reacting with anger or judgment, he simply raised his hands in surrender. “I didn’t see anything. I don’t know anything,” he said, backing away slowly. “Your secret’s safe with me.”
And just like that, Jisung slipped out of the room, leaving Felix and Hyunjin standing there in stunned silence.
---
After Jisung left, the air in the room felt thick with unspoken emotions. Felix could barely meet Hyunjin’s eyes, his heart pounding as the weight of what had just happened began to settle over him.
“We can’t… we can’t keep doing this,” Hyunjin said quietly, his voice tinged with regret.
Felix swallowed hard, the realization sinking in. He knew Hyunjin was right. What they had done was reckless, dangerous. And now that Jisung had seen them, it felt like a ticking time bomb waiting to explode.
“I know,” Felix whispered. “But… I don’t want to stop.”
Hyunjin looked at him for a long moment, conflict clear in his eyes. He wanted Felix—Felix could see it, feel it—but the risks were too high. They were walking a dangerous line, one that could cost them both everything.
“We’ll figure this out,” Hyunjin finally said, his voice barely above a whisper. “But we have to be careful.”
Felix nodded, though he wasn’t sure how they could ever go back to the way things were. The connection between them was too strong, too intense to just ignore.
---
In the days that followed, Felix and Hyunjin did their best to keep their distance, to pretend that nothing had happened. But it was impossible. Their stolen glances in the hallway, the way Felix’s heart raced whenever Hyunjin brushed past him in class—it was all too much.
And then there was Jisung, who kept his promise and never said a word. But he wasn’t blind. He could see the tension between Felix and Hyunjin, the way they danced around each other, pretending that nothing had changed when, in reality, everything had.
One evening, after another agonizing tutoring session where they barely spoke, Felix finally had enough. As he packed up his things to leave, he turned to Hyunjin, his voice quiet but firm. “I don’t want to keep pretending. I like you, and I know you feel the same.”
Hyunjin’s eyes softened, but he still looked conflicted. “Felix, you know this isn’t right. We could lose everything.”
“I don’t care,” Felix replied, stepping closer. “I don’t want to keep hiding how I feel.”
For a moment, it seemed like Hyunjin might push him away again, but then something shifted. Hyunjin closed the gap between them, cupping Felix’s face in his hands as he kissed him—this time with more certainty, more passion. It was like all the tension that had been building between them finally broke, spilling over in the kiss they had both been craving for far too long.
And as they stood there, wrapped up in each other, Felix realized that no matter what happened, they would face it together.
