Chapter 19

Ranveer and Alia headed outside of the interview building the next morning.

"How did it go?" Alia asked, finally getting the chance to speak to him about the previous night's event.

"It went alright," Ranveer said. "She is a little upset right now, but not with me. She's upset with herself. And I hate that."

"Go home and cheer her up, then," Alia told him, smiling. "She'll be happy to see you."

Alia boarded the car that had arrived for her, and it drove away, leaving Ranveer standing alone. He hadn't called a driver yet. He had decided to take a little walk before doing so.

He froze when he saw Vin standing in a dark alleyway a few blocks down from the interview building. He was about to turn around and walk away, hoping Vin hadn't seen him, when he felt a hand on his shoulder.

Vin grabbed his arm and crashed him into the wall, punching him in the stomach twice before throwing him on the ground. Ranveer could have fought back, but Vin had taken him by surprise.

Vin stepped on Ranveer's hand and twisted his foot. Ranveer yelped, squeezing his eyes shut. He took hold of Vin's overconfident "victory" and grabbed his ankle, pulling it towards him, causing Vin to trip over Ranveer's limp body.

Ranveer scrambled to his feet, his hand stinging in pain. He felt he was going to puke, right then and there. And he decided he may as well do it on Vin's face.

Vin dragged himself towards Ranveer. He tossed Ranveer into the wall and punched his face. Luckily, Ranveer didn't feel anything break, such as his nose. Ranveer dodged Vin's next punch, making him slam his fist into the wall. Vin shrieked in pain, shaking his knuckles as they started bleeding right away.

Vin started seething. He chased after Ranveer, who ran into the street. He needed to get away from Vin.

They rounded a corner, ending up in another dark alley. Vin continued to punch Ranveer, who fell to his knees and onto his stomach. Vin pressed his foot against Ranveer's back, and then punched him again. This caused Ranveer to go unconscious, and his limp body was laying on its stomach in the middle of the alley.
