"Deepika, about time you showed up!" Vin roared, crushing her in a tight, cold hug. Deepika couldn't get the image of Ranveer's hurt expression out of her head. She hated seeing him like that, especially when a single smile from him could instantly make her day better.
But right now, she felt no happiness inside of her. She felt guilt. All guilt.
She couldn't even focus on what Vin was saying. She needed to make it up to Ranveer somehow.
"So, Vin, why are we here again?" Deepika asked, hoping to leave earlier than she expected.
"For boba, of course!" Vin exclaimed. "And we haven't spent quality time together in years!"
"I just remembered, Alia and I have an interview tonight. I was hoping I could just say hi really quick and then head over there. I need to leave now," Deepika lied. When it came to Ranveer, she was a terrible liar. But to anyone else, not so much.
"That can't be right!" Vin exclaimed. "You told me-"
"I didn't tell you," Deepika interrupted. "I only agreed to this because you lashed out at me. You didn't give me a chance to speak. I'm sorry, Vin."
Vin stamped his foot. "You're lying. You're not showing it very well, but I can tell! You just want to go spend time with your precious Ranveer Singh!"
"Maybe," Deepika shrugged. "Or maybe not. But either way, it isn't your business."
"ARGH-"
Deepika cut him off with a kiss. Vin relaxed as his lips started moving against hers. Deepika shivered in his cold embrace. This was not what she wanted, not one bit.
What she wanted was to go back home and apologize to Ranveer. But this was necessary so Vin wouldn't attract unwanted attention by lashing out on her.
But many customers at the boba restaurant were already staring at them, and many people started taking pictures or videos. Deepika felt nervous, Ranveer would probably see a video of this moment on his Home Screen.
Deepika pulled away quickly before Vin could move his lips down to her neck. "I really need to go. Alia's waiting for me."
"Will I see you tomorrow?" Vin asked, grinning stupidly.
"We'll see," Deepika called as she exited the shop.
Little did they know, Alia Bhatt was currently dressed in all black, filming the entire event secretly.
