Chapter 6

Jack

Saturday after the party

I was very surprised to wake up to Lilly staring at me, well not really this happens more often then you would think. 

"Uh, why are you here" I paused and picked up my phone. "At 9 AM". 

"I need your help" she said sounding panicked. I had never seen her like this, she was always very... calm, I guess you could say. 

"Okay, with what" 

She took a deep breath. "Okay so I went to that party last night and I ran into Evelyn and we talked for a while and then we kissed and Harry saw and now I don't know what to do, oh God I've messed up everything, shit shit shit" 

"Evelyn as in James girlfriend Evelyn" She nodded. "Oh shit shit shit" 

"I just said that" she screeched. 

"It's okay we'll figure something out"

It took a few seconds for what she said to sink in, "I mean you were both drunk, right?"

She didn't say anything and just stared at me, "Oh god Lilly! what have you done". 

"I'm really sorry, It just kinda happened you know" she chuckled nervously. I sighed and nodded. "Come on lets watch something" 

I put on Netflix and we watched Outerbanks... all of it, we don't have a life okay?

"Oh, Noah texted me wondering if were free to hang out, you wanna go? she asked, "yeah sure" I responded, already getting out of bed and putting shoes on. 

"Okay, were meeting at Cafe Fleur"

Cafe Fleur is like the only good cafe in this town so that's where basically every teenager within a 10 mile radius hangs out. It's always extremely busy, so why were going there I don't know but whatever. 

Me and Lilly have to walk because neither of us can drive yet. When we get there its packed, everyone and their mother were here, as usual. We see Noah, Emily and Kai sitting at a table, we walk over and they all greet us. "Hey!" Noah says as we sit down. 

"Did you guys here about the new student coming" Emily said, Emily loved gossip, if there was something you wanted to know just ask her. 

"No, who is it" Kai said. Kai is the most chill out of all of us he minds his own buisness and doesn't really bother wih anyone. 

"His name is Nicholus, how fancy is that?" Emily said. I snorted, "He sounds like a snob". "Oh shut up, you're a snob" Emily said before we all burst out laughing. 

I loved my friends, I felt happy when was with them. We had met on the first day of freshman, Kai had just moved here and didn't know anybody and Emily and Noah were already friends, like me and Lilly. If I'm being honest I have no idea how we became friends, we just started talking and bam we were friends. 

"So, Jack any crushes?" Noah asked rasing his eyebrows at me. I rolled my eyes, my friends and James were the only one who knew about my sexuality, and I wanted it to stay that way. "No of course not, everyone in this town looks like goblins" I said snarkly. "Hey, I'm offended" Emily said, faking being annoyed. "Except you guys obviously". "that's better" Emily said now smiling. 

LIlly was grinning at me. "Oh, shut up" I groaned. She burst out laughing, "I don't like him". "Mmh, sure" she laughed. "Do we know this new guy" I said changing the subject. "Well, no, but I found his social media and found out that he's from New York and has a dog and 3 sisters" Emily stated. "Oh uh, okay, wait isn't that technically stalking" Kai said, staring at her. "No of course not, I was simply gathering information. I think we should try and become friends with him" Emily said. "Don't you think he would, oh I don't know, want to be friends with any but us, I mean everyone thinks were weird" Noah said sadly. 

Noah wasn't wrong, everyone at school did think we were werid, the only reason nobody bothered us is because James is my older brother and, if I'm being honest, I think most of the school is kinda scared of him. 

Emily rolled her eyes and sighed. "Yeah your probably right". Soon after, I left. I was tired and needed some alone time. I got home and watched some heartstopper before going to bed. 

Monday

Lilly had been on edge all day, and i knew why, she was terrified that James would find out. I hated keeping this from him. 

I saw Evelyn look over at Lilly. Shit. James knew, i could tell bethe look in her eyes. I stood up and quickly walked over, Why? I have no idea, it was the dumest thing I couls have done. 

"What, tell me hes joking" i hared James say as I got closer. "James" I called out, everyone at the table turned to look at me. "I need your help with ..... something". He looked dazed, "Okay" he said, standing up. We both quickly walked out of there before anything bad could happen. 

"Are you okay" I said, when we got to the hallway. He took a shaky breath. "Do you want to go home?" I asked my voice soft. He nodded.

Once again I have no idea why I put Heaven and Back here I just REALLY love this song so why not?
