Chapter 5

Evelyn 

*Party* 

If I'm being honest this party kinda sucks, James had wondered off a while ago to get drunk, I didn't blame him he needed an escape sometimes. I love him I really do but not in the way you would think. I love more like a best friend then a boyfriend. I've known I liked girls for a while but, I was dating James and I didn't want to hurt him. Why does life have to be this complicated.

I got up to get a drink. "Hey" I turned around and saw Chiara, she was the cheerleaders captin. I smiled at her, "Hey". "Where's James?" she asked. She has a massive crush on him, since like forever. "I think he's with Miles". She nodded. "Anyway I'll see you later". 

I walked into the kitchen to get a drink, I sighed and got a beer, I opened and went to leave to room, but I bumped into someone. "Sorry" It was some girl, I think her names Lilly she hangs around with Jack. "It's okay, you're Lilly right?" I asked. She nodded. "Is Jack with you?". "No he never comes to party's" She said with a laugh. I smiled. "You wanna go outside for a few minutes its really hot in here" I asked. She smiled and nodded again. 

I have no idea why I asked her to come outside with me, I just felt like it, there was something about her. I had no idea what that thing was but it was there. She was actually very nice, I had never really spoken to her before. 

"Wait, you paint" I asked. "Yeah I always was very arty, I guess" she said, laughing. "That's really cool, I don't really have any hobbies... well I mean I do cheerleading and I like reading sometimes" I said laughing with her. 

"There hobbies, what do you do in your free time?" 

"Uhh, I hang out with my friends?, What do you do?"

"Well, me and Jack watch a lot of movies, thats like all we do together... ever since last year he stopped like actually hanging out with us, I mean he's there but he never does anything really, he just sits there. I don't think he's even listening half of the time" 

"God, I didn't know it was that bad, I thought he was getting better" 

"Same, you know he's my best friend but sometimes it just gets so much... it's so draining sometimes, it's like he's giving me all the bad energy he has... God you probably think I'm a terrible friend" 

"I don't think you're a terrible friend, we all need breaks sometimes, especially from the people we love" I smiled at her. "It will get better" 

 "Thank you for listening to me" She whispered, I smiled. "It's really easy to talk to you" she continued. 

"Thanks I guess" I said. 

She burst out laughing and turned to look at me, she was pretty, no gorgeous. I had never felt like this before, not even with James. We leaned in and our lips met, and it felt so good. It felt... right. Kissing someone had never felt like this before, well I had never actually kissed a girl before so that was probably the reason. 

"Woah, what the fuck" a voice said form behind us. We jumped apart and saw Harry Smith standing behind us. "Shit' I whispered. "What the hell Evelyn, you're dating James" he said. "I know, I know, shit, shit, shit" I jumped up and ran back into the house. 

Oh my God what have I done, I've ruined everything, I ran through the house until I reached the front door. I went outside and called my older brother. 

"Evelyn, are you okay?" Leo, my older brother, said. 

"I need you to pick me up" I said my voice shaking, I hadn't even realised I had been crying. 

"Okay, I'm on my way" 

When Leo showed up I ran into the car and just broke down. "I've ruined everything" I sobbed, he pulled me into a hug. "I'm sure it's not that bad" he said. "It is, I kissed a girl" I wailed. "Oh, wait aren't you dating James?" he said confused. "Yeah that's the problem, one of his friends saw us and is definitely gonna tell him" I said, still sobbing. "What have I done".

Apologies that was so short, I just wanted to give an introduction to Evelyn and what happened at the party.
