TRAVIS POV:
Me and Taylor decided to have an early night tonight. We watched a movie, ordered a pizza and cuddled practically all night. She mentioned she wasn't feeling great either, so a lazy day seemed like a perfect idea for the both of us.
She recently fell asleep but has been restless, she must've been sick. I peacefully stared into the depths of social media, mindlessly scrolling through my phone until I decided to go to sleep.
I was just plugging my phone into the charger beside my bed when I notice Taylor didn't look well at all.
"Baby? Are you okay?" I asked, putting my hand up to her forehead to check if she had a raised temperature or felt warm.
"It hurts so bad." She mumbled, her hands holding the right side of her stomach.
"You're hot too, let's get you to the hospital babygirl." I suggested, but I knew she wouldn't go easily, she dreaded going to the doctors and especially the hospital.
"No, no. I'm fine. I think it's just bad cramps, I'm on my period." She announces, usually I would've believed because she usually gets pretty bad cramps, but along with a fever seemed like something more.
"No baby, we're going. I don't think this is just your period." I argued.
"But I don't wanna go. Just get me some midol and I'll go back to bed." She groaned, her hands still clutching the right side of her stomach.
"No, we're going to the hospital. You're burning up too, let's go baby." I said, scooping her up into my arms.
"Where does it hurt exactly?" I asked, she pointing to about the spot where her appendix is located.
"Hm, it's probably appendicitis then. We need to go now baby." I said as I carried her down the stairs, her arms still attached to the pain in her abdomen.
I rushed her to the hospital, and I could tell she hated me for that. Ever since I've known, I knew going to the hospital was something she hated, she didn't like a single thing about it.
She knew it was going to help her recover from what was happening, but the whole process of getting there felt incredibly overwhelming and often caused panic.
"Baby, we're almost there, okay?" I said as I drove as quickly as I could without going over the speed limit, getting pulled over right now would definitely not help our case.
Eventually we arrived at the nearest hospital and I helped her out of the car and into the waiting room where she sat down in a chair while I talked to the receptionist.
Not much later we reached our own private room where we met with a nurse who ran some tests.
"Okay Taylor, can you tell me what hurts? Tell me everything, okay?" The nurse says, taking a seat on the chair beside Taylor.
"My stomach really hurts here. But I'm on my period so it's probably just bad cramps, but someone." She paused and glared at me. "Made me come here, just to be safe." She tried to explain.
"Does it hurt here?" The young nurse asked as she pressed around Taylor's stomach, trying to figure out where the most pain is.
"It hurts so much." She cried.
"Okay, I'll be right back." She nurse announced, leaving the room briefly.
I think we all knew it was likely appendicitis or something else that needed more treatment than over the counter medicine whether or not Taylor wanted to admit it.
"Alright Taylor, after all the tests we did, your appendix is definitely in need of surgery." The nurse explained.
"What? When? But.. I don't wanna..." Taylor began to complain as I saw the tears well up in her eyes.
"The sooner the better. We're thinking probably within the next hour or so, okay?" The nurse explained, Taylor nodded slowly, knowing having the surgery would be the only way to help her recover.
"O-okay" she nodded in response.
"Great. We'll get you into the surgery room as soon as possible and get you feeling better, how does that sound?" The doctor asked, Taylor gave a thumbs up, I think she was too tired to give a vocal response.
I patiently waited outside of the room where Taylor was getting the procedure done. I knew there weren't many risks with this, but I was still worried about her.
-
A little while passed and soon Taylor was wheeled back into the original room by a small team of nurses.
"How ya feeling?" I asked, stroking her hair back to get it out of her face.
"Better." She mumbled, a small smile returning to her face.
A moment or two later, the surgeon who helped Taylor entered our room, for which I'm assuming to explain some of the things to help her finish healing after the surgery.
"Alright Taylor, we removed your appendix and for the most part you should be good." He said, Taylor nodded along.
"Just take it easy the next few weeks, don't do any crazy exercising or long runs. Make sure to stay hydrated and eat well, your body will need it." He smiled kindly.
"Well thank you so much." Taylor smiled back, thanking the doctor for quite literally saving her life.
"Just another part of my job." He winked as he left the room to tend to another patient.
"Well, I'm kinda glad you forced me to come here now" she smirked, knowing if I hadn't been with her she probably would've chose to lay there suffering in pain.
"Anytime, baby." I smiled, placing a kiss on her cheek.

I am not a doctor and don't have any clue what I'm talking about when it comes to medical advice, so please- don't think any of this true. I used random prior knowledge from tv shows and movies to create this chapter, so it's likely false information. Thank you.
