The night of the Halloween party at Logan's apartment felt electric. As Alouette stepped into the crowded space, she took a moment to appreciate the transformation. The usual bare walls were adorned with flickering orange lights and cobwebs, and a massive pumpkin sat in the corner, its sinister grin illuminated by a candle. The scent of pumpkin spice wafted through the air, mixing with the sound of laughter and music, creating a vibrant atmosphere that pulsed with energy.
Alouette had gone all out for her costume, channeling the spirit of Priscilla Presley. Her skimpy lace slip dress hugged her figure perfectly, and she paired it with knee-high go-go boots that gave her a sense of confidence she hadn't felt in weeks. The 60's makeup completed the look—thick eyeliner, a flawless complexion, and deep red lipstick. As she turned heads upon entering, a playful grin spread across her face.
"Wow, you look incredible!" Madeline exclaimed, strutting up to her in a tight, shiny black bunny outfit, complete with fluffy tail and ears. Louise followed closely, equally decked out as a Playboy bunny, both of them reveling in their daring choices.
"Thanks! You both look amazing too," Alouette replied, admiring their outfits. The trio was joined by Amelia, who stood proudly in her pirate getup, complete with a tricorn hat and a tiny skirt.
As the four ventured further into the chaos of the party, Alouette couldn't help but feel the excitement bubbling up inside her. It was the first time in a while that she felt free and carefree, letting the worries of her life fade away. Colin and Finn were nearby, dressed as classic vampires, their capes billowing dramatically as they pretended to swoop around the apartment, and she couldn't help but roll her eyes at their lack of creativity.
"Seriously, guys?" she called out, smirking. "Vampires again?"
"Hey, it's a classic!" Colin shot back, flashing his fangs with a grin.
"Or maybe you just didn't want to put any effort into it," Madeline teased, nudging him playfully.
Alouette laughed, her spirits soaring. But the true standout of the night was Logan. He had embraced the boxer theme fully, wearing nothing but black boxing shorts and an open gold robe that showcased his sculpted six-pack. The girls' eyes seemed to follow him wherever he went, and despite her earlier resolve to ignore him, Alouette couldn't help but feel a flutter of attraction.
"Drink up, ladies!" Logan called out, holding a bottle of whiskey. "Let's get this party started!"
As the night wore on, drinks flowed freely, and Alouette found herself indulging more than she intended. The alcohol quickly took effect, sending warm waves of bliss through her. She danced and laughed, losing herself in the music and the chaotic energy of the room.
"Let's get shots!" Louise suggested, dragging Alouette toward the makeshift bar.
"Count me in!" Alouette shouted, her excitement bubbling over. After a few rounds, she felt invincible, reveling in the attention and the liberating atmosphere. But it wasn't long before she felt the drinks catching up to her.
At one point, she found herself in the living room, where Alex, sporting devil horns and a mischievous grin, approached her. "Hey, gorgeous. Want to dance?"
"Sure!" she exclaimed, her heart racing. They swayed together for a moment, but she could feel the subtle undertone of his interest as he leaned closer, whispering in her ear. But just as the moment seemed to heat up, he glanced over his shoulder, spotting another girl across the room.
"Hold on, I'll be right back," he said, flashing her a smile before slipping away.
Alouette felt a twinge of disappointment, but the alcohol dulled the sting. She turned to find her friends but instead stumbled into the bathroom, feeling the sudden wave of nausea wash over her.
