I walked through the busy streets of Seoul, whistling absentmindedly as I headed toward the parking lot. The events of last night played on repeat in my head—Seonghwa's smug arrogance, the audacity of him trying to convince me that Choi San could just walk in and take what didn't belong to him. Like I was supposed to just fall in line. But no matter what they said, nothing was going to change how I viewed it. This part of the city wasn't theirs to claim. And if I stayed alive long enough, I'd make sure it stayed that way.
Choi San didn't own everything. He wasn't some untouchable god. He was just a greedy man wanting more power. And keeping me alive in a city he controlled? That wasn't going to happen.
The moment he took over, I'd be as good as dead. Turning the corner, I cursed under my breath, jumping over a log someone had left in the middle of the sidewalk. "Damn city," I muttered, running my fingers through my hair. But as I looked up, I froze.
Seonghwa. And he wasn't alone.
Groaning, I turned toward my car, unlocking it with a single click, hoping they wouldn't bother me. I wasn't in the mood for more of Seonghwa's smug talk. I reached for the door handle when I heard my name called out—mockingly.
"Wooyoung!" Seonghwa's voice was taunting, just like last night.
I gritted my teeth, turning around slowly. Seonghwa stood there with that same cocky smirk on his face. But standing next to him, the man I had only heard about but never seen in person—Choi San. The infamous boss himself.
"Seriously?" I muttered under my breath. So, this was supposed to intimidate me? They really thought parading Choi San in front of me would scare me into submission?
Seonghwa strolled toward me, hands casually tucked into his pockets. "You seem surprised, Wooyoung. Didn't think you'd be seeing me again so soon?"
"I'm not surprised," I shot back, my tone dripping with sarcasm. "Just wondering if this is supposed to be impressive. Should I be scared because your boss decided to show up?"
Choi San didn't say anything right away. He just stood there, watching me with those cold, calculating eyes. His silence was almost worse than Seonghwa's constant yapping. He didn't need to speak to let me know he was in control.
"You don't make things easy for yourself, do you?" Seonghwa said, that irritating smirk still plastered on his face. "Most people would have taken the offer by now. But not you. You've got a death wish, don't you?"
"Since you're so mighty, unless you become my bottom, we have nothing to talk about," I shot back, my voice laced with sarcasm as I opened the car door, glancing at Seonghwa with a smirk.
He raised an eyebrow, clearly taken aback by my words, but it didn't take him long to recover. "Oh, does our rebel like men?" he sneered, that arrogant smirk returning to his face.
