Chapter 6 : Unexpected Reunion
Xie Lian's 17th birthday celebration was in full swing. The air resonated with laughter and music as dignitaries gathered for his Crowning Ceremony.
Just as Xie Lian was about to receive his martial arts recognition, a commotion erupted outside. A young boy, no more than 10 years old, tumbled from the tower's heights.
Time froze as Xie Lian sprinted toward the falling child. He stretched out his arms, catching the boy mere inches from the ground.
The impact triggered a cascade of memories. Xie Lian's past life flashed before his eyes: Hua Cheng's smile, their laughter, and their heartbreaking farewell.
Breathless, Xie Lian gazed into the boy's frightened face. Hua Cheng.
Tears welled up in his eyes as he cradled the child, his heart racing. How could fate reunite them so soon?
Hua Cheng, still disoriented, struggled free. Fear and uncertainty filled his eyes.
Xie Lian gently released him, his hands lingering on the child's shoulders.
"Wait!" Xie Lian called out, but Hua Cheng darted away, vanishing into the crowd.
Without hesitation, Xie Lian abandoned the ceremony, leaving behind his ascension to chase after the fleeing child.
" Stop!" Xie Lian shouted, weaving through the throng.
As he pursued Hua Cheng, memories flooded his mind: their past love, the ache of separation, and the longing.
This chance encounter reignited Xie Lian's determination. He would protect Hua Cheng, no matter the cost.
