POUND'S POV 🪙:

I woke up the next morning, a bit tired like usually, but decent enough to get through the day without falling asleep. Class was a bit boring today. All we did was take notes, but I still managed to stay awake somehow. A lot of my other classmates fell asleep though, including the person sitting next to me. I forgot their name, but they looked like a purple speaker.

When I was walking back to my dorm someone ran past me quickly, pushing me onto the wall.

"Ow! Watch it you-" I was quickly interrupted by another student, also running the same way.

"The devil's back at it y'all!"

The devil? It didn't take long for me to notice a giant swarm of people in the middle of the hallway. I pushed through the crowd to the front, finding a familiar flame..

"I TOLD YOU, I DON'T KNOW WHO TOOK YOUR PHONE!" I heard one of the objects in the middle of the circle yell. It looked like our roomate, Beer Keg. It was hard to tell because Fireball was in the way.

"YEAH, RIGHT! ADMIT YOU STOLE IT! YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE I KNOW THAT HAS ACCESS TO OUR DORM AND DOESN'T LIKE ME. YOU WANNA MAKE ME MAD, HUH?! WELL YOU DID IT! HAPPY?!" Fireball fumed, literally and figuratively. I saw steam arising out of his head.

"HEY, WHAT ABOUT CHIPSTACK?! HE HAS ACCESS TO OUR ROOM TOO! HE COULD'VE TOOK IT." Beer Keg argued.

"I know him better than that! He would NEVER take something that wasn't his. Besides, he's my FRIEND, THANK YOU!" Fireball retorted.

I stepped in between the too, trying to break them up.

"Hey, hey! Come on, guys! Stop fighting!" I said nervously.

"UGH! I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU HAVE TO BE SO ANGRY ALL THE TIME! ALL YOU'VE DONE SINCE WE'VE MET IS BITCH, MOAN, AND COMPLAIN!" Beer Keg ranted. I noticed Fireball's face turn from anger to shock and a bit of sadness. My face turned to BK. He continued, "IF YOU REALLY WANTED TO BE IN THIS SCHOOL, YOU WOULD DO MORE THAN WHINE ALL DAY! MAYBE IF SOMEONE PUT YOU IN YOUR PLACE, YOU'D REALIZE HOW SHITTY OF A PERSON YOU REALLY ARE!"

My face filled with anger after that last comment.

"THAT'S IT!" I yelled out, raising my hand. Before I knew what I was doing, BK was on the floor.

"IF YOU REALLY WANNA TALK ABOUT SHITTY PEOPLE, LOOK IN A FUCKING MIRROR! ALL YOU'VE DONE SINCE I'VE MET YOU IS TALK ABOUT "Oh, AlL oF tHe PrEtTy BaBeS aT tHe ScHoOl ArE gOnNa LoVe Me!" IS THAT ALL YOU CARE ABOUT? GIRLS? SERIOUSLY, MAN, GROW UP! HOW'D YOU GET HERE ANYWAY?! YOU SEEM WAYYY TOO STUPID TO BE HERE BY THE COLLEGE'S CHOICE. DID YOU PAY THE ADMINISTRATORS? HAH! YOU REALLY ARE TRULY PATHETIC. AND BY THE WAY, I SEE NO GIRLS FLOCKING TO YOU. YOU'RE REALLY A WINNER THIS TIME!" I snapped.

"OH, YOU'RE ONE TO TALK! ON THE FIRST DAY, YOU COMPLAINED TO YOUR BOYTOY OVER THERE THAT YOU COULDN'T GET ANYTHING DONE! HE HAD TO HELP YOU IN A MAJOR THAT HE ISN'T EVEN TAKING! AND YOU WANNA TALK ABOUT ME NOT HAVING A GIRLFRIEND? WHAT ABOUT YOU?! I DON'T SEE ANY GIRLS COMING YOUR WAY." He retaliated.

"I DON'T WANT A GIRLFRIEND!" I said.

"Really? Why not?" He asked, in a sort of mocking tone, but pretty loudly.

"BECAUSE I HAVE A CRUSH ON A GUY!" I blurted, not knowing what I said until a few seconds after I spoke. I covered my mouth, my face turning a cherry red. I heard the whole crowd gasp. Fireball and Beer Keg were shocked.

I began to stutter, "I-Uh-I MEAN-ummmmmm...Uhhhh...." I tried to come up with an excuse, but it was wayyy too late. Beer Leg started to laugh.

"YOU HAVE A... HAHA.. CRUSH ON.. HAH.. A GUY?! HAHAHA!"

"Pound..?" Fireball said, concerned.

I quickly ran away through the crowd, emotions like a hurricane. Fireball quickly ran after me.

"Pound, wait!" I hear him call out as I slammed the door of our dorm and collapsed on Fireball's bed. It may sound dumb, but it was the closest one to the door.

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. STUPID! STUPID! STUPID! POUND, WHY DID YOU SAY THAT?! EVERYONE'S GONNA MAKE FUN OF YOU NOW! UGHHHH, WHY AM I SUCH AN IDIOT! I felt very overwhelmed at this point and my warm tears started running down my face. I tried to wipe them away, but the damage was already done.

The door began to open and Fireball emerged from it, closing the door after him. He sat down next to me and put a comforting hand on my back.

"Hey.. Sorry about what happened back there, you should've never have gotten involved." He apologized.

"You don't need to apologize, it's my fault for saying anything anyways." I reassured.

"No, it's my fault for getting into that petty fight anyways.." He sighed, a bit angrily, "I just wanna make sure you're okay. You mean a lot to me, Y'know."

I looked at him and smiled, but my face quickly reverted back to sadness and I began to tear up.

"I haven't been that mad in years! Maybe even never in my life! And then I screw up by telling my biggest secret to the entire school, and now everyone at school is gonna laugh at me!" I wept through tears.

"Hey! Hey-hey-hey-hey-hey! Shhhh.. You're gonna be okay. Just breathe." He consoled me as he grabbed my hands.

I started breathing slowly.

"That's it.. good.." He comforted as he pulled me in for a hug. I felt embarrased a bit by his warm embrace and I began to blush, but I hugged him back. Steam rose as my tears fell onto his flames.

"I-I-I'm not hurting you, am I?" I stammered, concerned as I pulled out of the hug.

"A little, but I'm okay. What matters to me is your happiness." He said with a smile.

I smiled as well, my heart beating a bit faster.

"But I have to ask... who's your crush?"

I was taken aback by the question, my face turning red. I began twiddling my thumbs, sweat pouring down my face.

I took a breath and said;

"Nobody you would know."
