"DUDE, LOOK OUT!"

"Huh?"

...

POUND'S POV 🪙:

"..Fireball?"

I looked over to my left. Fireball was unconscious.

"Fireball, wake up." I shaked him slightly. He didn't wake. I shook more rapidly.

"Fireball, wake up. Please. Don't do this to me. Dear. Please. Wake up." I felt a tear run down my face and continued trying to wake up Fireball with desperation.

"I SAID WAKE UP. PLEASE. YOU HAVE TO WAKE UP!"

I gave up after a while and the ambulance came.

"Can I come with him?" I asked as they placed him in the back of the vehicle.

"We'll only accept family members right now."

"But I'm his boyfriend.."

"Sorry, you'll have to go to the hospital."

"I don't have a car!"

"There's nothing we can do. Apologies."

They got back in the ambulance and drove off. I collapsed onto the ground, warm years streaming down my face. The other person got out of their car and ran over to me.

"Goodness! Are you okay?" He asked, reaching out his hand as if to help me up. I didn't know who he was, but he looked like a yellow and red designed hat. I slapped away his hand and got up myself, glaring at him angrily.

"I'm fine.." I deadpanned, walking off.

I managed to find my way back to the dorm. Beer Keg wasn't there, but Chip Stack took note of my shocked and horrified expression.

"Hey, you good?" He asked with a concerned look.

"Fireball might be dead." I replied, looking over to him. His face filled with shock.

"What?!"

"We got in a car crash. He was unconscious going into the ambulance last time I saw him. I can't go to the hospital, I don't have a car."

"I do. I can take ya."

"Really?"

"Yeah." Chipstack picked up his car keys and motioned to the door. We left and got in his car. The drive felt like it took forever.

When we arrived, I rushed inside and went straight to the check-in.

"Hello, sir. How may I help you?" The lady behind the counter asked.

"I'm looking for a Fireball Embers, he should've been brought here a few moments ago."

"Ah, yes. Are you related to him?"

"I'm his boyfriend."

"Ah, okay. We'll allow you to head in. He's on the second floor in room 217."

"Okay, thank you!"

I rushed over to the elevator, ChipStack following behind me. I pressed the button and the elevator closed.

"You seem really eager to be here." Chip Stack commented.

"OF COURSE I AM! MY BOYFRIEND IS IN THE HOSPITAL!" I exclaimed nervously.

"Okay, dude, chill. I get it."

The elevator doors opened and I went on my search, mind racing at 100 mph.

"212. 213. 214.." I read the numbers on the doors out load, "217!"

I immediately opened the door and found him laying on the hospital bed, still unconscious, but breathing.

"Oh thank God he's not dead." I said sitting on a chair next to him. Chipstack stood next to me.

"Oh, jeez. This looks bad.." He shivered.

"Ya think?!" I yelled.

"Jeez, someone skipped the first stage of grief."

"Not. Funny."

"K, dude. Chill."

I looked back at Fireball, grabbing his hand gently. It was still soft.

"Dear, I don't know if you can hear me but if you can, I'm here for you. Come out of this alive for me. Okay? Please? I believe in you." I whispered. Chipstack left the room shortly after this and came back a few minutes later.

We sat there for around 30 minutes before I noticed Fireball's eyes slowly open.

"HE'S AWAKE! OH MY MINT I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE OKAY!" I quickly exclaimed in relief.

"...Pound..?" He said in almost a whisper.

"Yes, Fireball, it's me. Chipstack and I have been waiting here for a while. I'm so glad you're awake."

"Heh, yeah."

"Fireball, I'm sososo sorry. This is all my fault. I was the one who suggested we leave. I was the one who suggested we go to the park. I was the one who made you smile. I-" I started to ramble.

"Shhhh..It's not your fault." I felt his hand touch my cheek gently, "Hey.. no matter what the doctors might say. I'll be okay. I promise."

A tear rolled down my face, "Okay

A tear rolled down my face, "Okay.. Stay strong for me." I smiled slightly.

"Mr. Quid and Mr. Hanley, you are being asked to leave so the doctors can continue to help their patient. You can come back tomorrow if you'd like." The nurse walked in and told us. I looked over to them.

"Yeah, sure, we'll go." I looked back at Fireball, "Love you."

"Love you too."

I let go of his hands and walked out of the room, heading back to the elevator and going back down to the lobby. I was a bit disappointed I couldn't stay for longer, but I'll make sure to be there as long as I can tomorrow. I got back in ChipStack's car and we drove off.

"I hope he'll be okay." I said, leaning against the window.

ChipStack looked at me for a bit before turning back to the road and responding with,

"I'm sure he'll be fine."
