POUND'S POV 🪙 :

It's been about 2 weeks since Fireball had slipped into a coma. I don't think I've ever felt this empty and alone in my entire life..Everyday when I visit him, I can barely stay for long. All I want is for this to get back to normal. That's when I received a phone call. I answered it, though I didn't know who it was.

"Hello?"

"Hi, is this Pound Quid?"

"Yes, this is him."

"Okay, great. We have some good news for you."

My face lit up as I heard this.

"You do?! What is it?"

"Fireball Embers has successfully recovered from his coma and will be escorted out of the hospital today."

A sense of relief and happiness washed over me, a smile spreading across my face.

"Really?! That's great! I'm SO glad he's okay!"

"Yes, he should be back to his campus sometime today, he insists he doesn't need a ride."

"Okay then, thanks for telling me!"

"It's what we do, sir. Have a nice day!"

"Bye!"

I hung up and immediately felt himself internally jump for joy. I was more than excited for Fireball to come back. It was all I could think about.

So I waited. And waited. And waited. 3 hours pass. I continued to stare at the door with pleasing expectation. Eventually, I heard the familiar key rattling, the door opening, and watched Fireball enter the room, his eyes immediately landing on me, having a happy and relieved look on my face. I immediately rushed towards him and pulled him into a tight embrace.

"FIREBALL! Oh my god, I'm SO glad you're okay!" I beamed.

Fireball chuckled, "Heh, hey Pound.."

We stood there for a few moments before I pulled away from the hug and planted many kisses all over Fireball's face, making him giggle.

"Okay, okay! I get it! Stop that! Haha!" Fireball pushed me away and I just laughed.

"You have NO idea how happy I am to see you! I was so worried!"

Fireball chuckled, "Trust me, I can tell, hah. Well, I missed you too, dude."

My eyes turned to the window. It was still winter time, but it wasn't snowing. However, there was still some snow on the ground. That's when I got an idea.

"Hey! Come with me."

I grabbed Fireball's hand and rushed him out the door. He seemed a bit surprised but just let himself be dragged.

"Okay then!"

It took a few moments but I found the skating rink I used to go to as a child. It wasn't as busy as before, but there was still a few people on the ice. Fireball stopped for a few minutes, looking at me like I just shot a man.

"Dude, are you crazy?! I'll melt the ice!" Fireball didn't seem as excited about this as I was.

"No you won't! Stop being a baby and come on." I shuffled him up to the counter where they were selling ice skates. The guy working there appeared to be some sort of orange pastry with a white glaze.

"Hello there! What can I do for you?" He asked, putting a few skates back on the shelves behind him.

"Hello, can we get two pairs of skates, please?" I held up two of my fingers, smiling.

"Of course!" He grabbed two pairs of skates and slid them across the counter to us, "That'll be $20 dollars."

I pulled out my wallet, handing him a 20 and grabbing the skates, "Thanks!"

I gave a pair to Fireball and he rolled his eyes playfully before smiling and taking them. We put our skates on and I brought him out the rink, holding his hand softly.

"Hey, chill! Easy, okay? I haven't skated before.." Fireball mentions.

"Oh, I see. Well, I'll help you." I began to guide Fireball around slowly, holding his hands to help him. I noticed his face filled with a bit of fear, but he smiled softly, letting me guide his way.

I practiced with him for a few moments, just showing him the ropes before I twirled him around.

"Ack-!" He lost his balance. I immediately caught him.

"Woah! Are you okay?!" I notice Fireball's face flush a bit before he laughed

"Woah! Are you okay?!" I notice Fireball's face flush a bit before he laughed.

"Thanks, heh."

I pulled him back up on his feet and we glided along the ice again, hand in hand. Fireball was cautiously staring at his feet, hoping that the ice wasn't melting below him. We danced along the ice, twirling around in a rhythm. I noticed Fireball's worries slowly drift away as we skated, focusing more on me. I felt him pull me closer and we spun around as he held me in his arms. I blushed a bit and smiled sweetly, he smiled fondly back.

I could've sworn we stayed out there for hours

I could've sworn we stayed out there for hours. People started disappearing and the sky became indulged in an orange and yellow hue. When we finally stopped, we had returned the skates we rented and I checked the time.

"8:00 PM already?! Jeez, I can't believe we stayed out for so long." Needless to say, I was taken aback by this discovery.

"Huh, that's interesting. But hey, at least we had fun." Fireball said. I smiled.

"Yeah." I interlocked our hands together and we walked back to the campus. Upon entering, everything seemed pretty normal at first, though ChipStack wasn't in the room. We sat on Fireball's bed for a few moments before ChipStack bursted through the door.

"Guys! Guys! You gotta help!" He looked worried and shook. Fireball and I both shared concerned looks.

"What?" Fireball asked.

"It's Beer Keg!"

"What about him?"

"He's..gone off the rails.."

Me and Fireball shared concerned and frightened glances.

"What?" I asked.

"Follow me."
