Verena

"Just give me a minute to understand this, Vera. You met Rhysand? Saved him? And not only that, he's taking you to his secret city?!" Crenan practically screams. I cringe.

After coming up with an excuse to come back to our rented cabin in the outskirts of a town in the Night Court; and tell Crenan and Tessa what was happening, Rhysand and his friends had decided to let Mor meet me and take me to their secret city in two days from now. He had offered for me to stay as long as I wanted and I swear Mor had jumped around so much and hug me so hard that I was half afraid she would collapse one of my lungs. She had started to list the things we would do once I got there; she couldn't stop bragging about having another female around for what it seems to be the first time for them all.

But I had a feeling that i would have be careful around that shadowsinger. He was the one to look out for. With his quiet demeanor and all to seeing hazel eyes, he had already rattled me so much from just one look at him. I had to get it together. Therefore I vowed to avoid him as much as I could while being in that city.

That city is the only place I can think of my father might have hidden the Acros in. It's was the best place to hide the prize from his sins. I bet he even had it next to his other war rewards and treasures in a room dedicated to them.

I couldn't get distracted by anyone, least of all an Illyrian.

Right now my biggest issue would be getting out that door. As my protector, Crenan couldn't help but feel a fierce, well, protectiveness over my safety. He is bonded to me for life since taking the blood oath. However, I have told him over and over that he could leave, make the life he so deserved to have, with less problems. Less.. me. But he never did. He stayed. Even when I left him that following morning when I first woke up from recuperating after the night that changed everything. He had found me again and stayed by my side.

So I knew he would go insane and overreact when I told him of Rhysand. Of his Illyrian friends. But one look at his outranged face tells me there's no way he will let me go.
We'll see.

Tessa has just sat herself in one of the couches, watching this all play out since she know nothing will stop me from getting what I want. She knows how much the Acros means to me. She knows the anger I felt when I found out my father had taken it from my mother the night he burned her and the other elders alive as a reminder of his so called victory.

I throw another dress in my suitcase, Crenan takes it out. "No way, Vera, this has gone too far. You can't just go into his secret city and expect us to stay out of the way. We don't even know where it is! What if they find out who you are and we can't get to you?"

I huff, "Nobody has been able to figure out who and what I am Crenan in more than 4 centuries." I throw my hand for emphasis, "And we had gone over this already. This is important for me. You know this. "
