prologue
zara was always pushed to be the smart;hardworking daughter. she wanted to make her parents happy. so she did just that by pushing herself to work hard everyday.
zara stepped into her home after a stressful day of school. she heard bickering which was unusual because her parents were hardly ever home.
she quietly stepped up the stairs, wanting to listen on what was going on. she heard her mother first "bruce i'm sick of this! i just can't stand another day with you. ". zara's heart dropped. her dad bruce faintly said "what about zara? how do you think she is going to feel about this?"
zara couldn't hear anymore of it, she quickly ran to her room , closing the door behind her and broke down. there was nothing she could do but just cry.
a few minutes later she heard knocks on her door. she quickly wiped her tears and said a quiet "come in" . she watched as her parents entered with no expression on their faces.
her dad spoke up first "sweetie, me and your mom decided that we are no longer fit for eachother—" he paused "i know you aren't going to take this well but you'll come with me to california." zara looked at her mom for any kind of sympathy .. none.
she slightly nodded. which her parents took as a surprise as to her taking it so easily.
a few months later.
zara already got accepted into many colleges with her high gpa and great record. she decided to go to usc which was close to her father. their chemistry had grown a lot without her mother.
it was zara's first day , she happily got up and got ready.. but she didn't know she was going to meet somebody new while there ..
