Niall's beautiful voice spoke from the other end of the phone. "Hey. Is that Katie?"
I giggled quietly to myself. Who else would it be?
"No, it's Meghan." I joked.
"Meghan? ...Sorry, I think I've got the wrong number." He sounded embarrased.

Niall's P.O.V.
Katie gave me a fake number. Why would she do that? She obviously doesn't like me. Damn. I thought I had a good chance with that girl.
Just as I was about to hang up, I heard hysterical laughter coming from the phone.
"I'm joking, Niall, it is Katie." She said in between laughs.
Haha, funny one you are.
"Jesus! Don't tease me like that." I smiled at her cute laugh.
"Come on, I know you can take it." Was she flirting with me? Well if that's the case, it's time to put my charming skills into action.
"Oh, I can definately take the joke. I was just worried that my heart wouldn't take not being able to hear your voice again."
What did I just say? My heart?! Crap, now she's gonna think I'm one of those guys that 'sweet talks' a girl then ditches her.
"Why would you be worried about that? It's not like I'm important to you or anything..." Her voice trailed off.
"Don't say that. You are important." It was true. There was something about Katie that made everything wrong in my life seem right.
I know it's crazy to say that, because I only met her a few hours ago. But I'm a strong believer in love at first sight. And maybe what I feel for her isn't love, but who knows? Even if we could only be friends, I was still desperate to see her again.
"Look Niall, you seem like a nice guy, so I'm not gonna beat around the bush. I've only just met you, but I somehow feel a connection to you like I've never felt with anyone else. I think I might have a crush on you. So if you're messing with me, please, stop now because I don't want my heart getting broken." She ranted.
She liked me! KATIE LIKED ME!

"I like you too, Katie. I don't know why I feel this way, but I do. Just give me a chance, yeah? We could start out as friends, and then see how it goes from there? I promise you this, I will NOT break your heart. Ever." It was such a relief to get that off my chest.
Every word of it was true. And I was going to keep my promise to Katie.
