"Hey, Diggory! We'll wait for you outside!" Iris called out with a wave as Zacharias, Elliot, Joseph, and Eros followed her out of the Hufflepuff common room.

Cedric turned back toward Y/N, a sheepish grin on his face. "So...are you coming?"

Y/N hesitated for a moment, her eyes drifting toward the stairway as she spotted Susan descending from the dormitories. She turned her gaze back to Cedric, offering an apologetic look. "Actually, Ced...I'm going with someone else to Hogsmeade today."

His face shifted briefly, but he quickly masked it with a friendly smile. "Ah, that's alright. I'll be seeing you then, yeah?" With a playful punch to her shoulder, he rushed out after the others.

Y/N released a breath she didn't realize she had been holding, a lightheadedness washing over her.

"Well, isn't that something? You finally made a choice," Susan teased, slinging an arm around Y/N's shoulders. "Honestly, I thought you'd be brewing a Polyjuice Potion to split yourself in two or something."

Y/N rolled her eyes, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Just because I'm good at Potions doesn't mean I'd resort to something that drastic," she said as they walked side by side through the common room door.

"You know, it's kind of a shame," Susan continued as they began their ascent up the staircase leading out of the Hufflepuff spiral. "I was secretly rooting for you and Ced. You two have so much in common."

Y/N stumbled on the steps, shooting Susan a bewildered look. "Sorry, what? You were rooting for us?"

Susan nodded, a hint of a smirk playing on her lips. "Yeah! You both love sweet things. Remember the time we saw him in Honeydukes? Plus, you're both smart, kind, and loyal Hufflepuffs! It's like you're made for each other."

Y/N sighed, reaching the top of the staircase and pushing past Susan. "Sue, that's ridiculous. Just because we're both Hufflepuffs doesn't mean we're destined to be together. Ever heard of 'opposites attract'?"

Susan trailed behind, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Oh, I've heard of opposites attracting, alright. But what about people who have a lot in common? Sometimes it's the similarities that make a connection strong."

Y/N shook her head, brushing off the comment. "You're overthinking it, Susan. Cedric and I are just friends."

"Uh-huh, sureeee," Susan replied skeptically, clearly unconvinced. "Anyway, I'm just glad you finally made a decision. You've been stuck on this for days. I was beginning to think you'd never decide.""

Y/N sighed, shaking her head. "It wasn't an easy choice, you know. They're both...great in different ways."

"Riiiight," Susan said with a smirk. "So, you're going with Harry, are you?"
