Kealin Vex revealed his plan to the dark sorcerer.
"We'll use Aiden's innocence against Rowan," Kealin said.
The sorcerer nodded.
"Create an illusion. Make Aiden believe Rowan's betrayed him."
The sorcerer began the ritual.
Meanwhile, Aiden struggled to process Rowan's revelation.
"Benji, what do you think?" Aiden asked.
Benji hesitated.
"I don't know, Aiden. But Rowan's been protecting you this whole time."
Aiden nodded.
"I trust him."
As night fell, the illusion took hold.
Aiden saw Rowan meeting with Kealin Vex.
"Rowan, what's going on?" Aiden asked, confused.
Rowan turned, his eyes cold.
"Aiden, stay back."
Aiden's heart sank.
"Rowan, why are you working with Kealin?" Aiden asked.
Rowan's expression twisted.
"For your own good, Aiden. Trust me."
Aiden's world shattered.
Had Rowan lied to him?
The illusion deepened, manipulating Aiden's perceptions.
Rowan's actions seemed treacherous.
Aiden's trust crumbled.
"Benji, I think Rowan's betrayed us," Aiden said, tears welling.
Benji's eyes widened.
"Aiden, no! That can't be true!"
But Aiden's mind was made up.
He would confront Rowan.
