Chapter Five

Y/N

Perched outside the gleaming, ivory-white Jedi Temple, you found solace in the meticulous task of etching elaborate designs into the sleek, wooden staff that Obi-Wan Kenobi had personally bestowed upon you for your rigorous lightsaber combat training. Each stroke of your lightsaber against the grain of the wood emitted a delicate, rhythmic whisper, a stark contrast to the cacophony of activity echoing through the corridors of the bustling sanctuary of the Jedi Order.

The sudden clack of boots on the stone pavement pierced the tranquil scene. Looking up, you noticed Rex and Cody, two of the most seasoned and loyal clone troopers, advancing in your direction. The sight of their familiar armor, gleaming under the midday suns of Coruscant, brought a warm smile to your lips. They paused in their stride, their helmets reflecting a brief flash of recognition before they broke into matching smiles.

"Hello, Captain, Commander!" you called out, your voice resonating with cheerfulness, effectively dispelling the quietude that had surrounded you. They reciprocated your greeting with a camaraderie that only comes from shared battles and victories.

"Hey there, L/N! Aren't you supposed to be in training with General Kenobi?" Cody inquired, his tone tinged with curiosity. He carefully placed his helmet on a dusty crate that sat adjacent to you before taking a seat. His eyes searched yours for an answer, a hint of concern for your well-being.

You chuckled, the sound light and airy. "Oh, I just needed a little breather. We've been practicing lightsaber techniques quite intensely of late. I believe I'm making some progress though," you replied, showcasing the staff in your grasp. The intricate patterns you had carved into the wood spoke of your dedication to mastering the ancient weapon.

Cody's gaze lingered on your work before he nodded in approval. "Indeed, it takes a great deal of time and effort to achieve proficiency with a lightsaber. But remember, padawan, even the most esteemed Jedi Knights had to toil to reach their current standing. You're doing exceptionally well." His affirmation filled you with a newfound vigor.

Continuing to work on your staff, you listened intently as Rex emerged from his silent observation, his arms now folded over his chest. "So, you're all by your lonesome out here? Why don't you join us in our barracks for some blaster practice? You can't rely solely on your lightsaber prowess, you know," he said, the corner of his mouth tipping up in a mischievous smile.

Your interest piqued, you set down your staff and considered his proposal. "Blasters, huh? It's true that I could use some practice in that department. I've been so focused on the lightsaber," you conceded with a chuckle.

Rex's smile widened. "It'll be a blast! Plus, we can share some tactics we've honed during our missions. Adaptability is key in the heat of battle, after all." His enthusiasm was infectious, and his words echoed in your mind like a siren's call.

"I'm game!" you exclaimed, the prospect of a new challenge invigorating your spirit.

"Take your time, we're not going anywhere," Rex said, leaning back against the cold, metal wall with the ease of a man at home.

As the two clones ambled away, their footsteps fading into the symphony of the Temple's activities, you felt a profound sense of excitement. Training with them would provide you with a unique insight into the clone's tactical prowess with blasters, something that even your esteemed mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, had not fully demonstrated.

You took a moment to complete the last delicate ring in your carving, your heart swelling with satisfaction. The staff, now adorned with your personal touch, felt like an extension of your being. Gently, you ran your fingers over the grooves and patterns, contemplating the fusion of lightsaber and blaster training ahead.
