Chapter Ten
Y/n

You and Mando had just settled into the bustling spaceport after your new job took you both from familiar ground. As you paused, a heavy weight settled in your chest. "I can't do it," you said, your voice barely above a whisper. Mando turned, concern etched on his face. "Do what?" he asked, brow furrowing. You swallowed hard, the words trembling on your lips. "Leave the kid."

Mando sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Look, I know you liked him, but we have a job to do." You shot him a glare, frustration bubbling beneath the surface. "You know, Mando, you'll change your mind soon enough," you fired back, turning your back to him defiantly. "You'll see I'm right." With that, you strode away, your heart racing as the uncertainty loomed over you like a dark cloud.

Just as you approached the archway leading into town, you heard Mando let out a heavy sigh behind you. You paused for a moment, feeling the weight of his conflicting emotions ripple through the Force. But then, you sensed his resolve solidify, a steely determination taking hold. A smile crept across your face; you knew you had the power to sway him. Just a little more time, and you'd win him over.

You and Mando skulked around the safe house, staying low and alert. Both of you gripped your blasters tightly, scanning the area for any signs of trouble. You reached a wall, pressing your back against the cool surface as you exchanged a silent nod with Mando.

His helmet turned to look at you, a flicker of understanding passing between you. Without a word, he pulled out a sticky grenade from his belt, and you followed suit, both of you aware that timing was everything. Mando placed the grenade firmly against the wall, the device clicking into place.

With a swift motion, he moved behind another wall for cover, his presence a steady force at your side. You took a deep breath, adrenaline surging through you. This was it—time to execute the plan and hope that whatever lay beyond the wall wasn't ready for the unexpected chaos you were about to unleash.

The grenade detonated with a resounding boom, sending debris flying and a shockwave of force that rattled both you and Mando. You winced as a shard of shrapnel grazed your leg, but it wasn't deep enough to slow you down. Ignoring the sting, you made your way toward the shadows of the safe house, heart racing with anticipation.

Inside, the chaos of the blast had drawn attention, and you spotted two stormtroopers entering the dimly lit room, their blasters sweeping the dark corners with meticulous precision. A smirk tugged at the corners of your mouth; this was your moment.

Reaching out with the Force, you lifted a small rock and hurled it toward one of the troopers. It struck him in the helmet with a dull thud, causing him to turn in confusion. Seizing the opportunity, you drew your lightsaber, its blade igniting with a mesmerizing burst of shimmering purple light that stood out against the shadows.

With a swift motion, you advanced, your saber slicing cleanly through the trooper before he could react. In an instant, the light was gone, leaving the room submerged in darkness once more. You couldn't help but feel a rush of exhilaration—the element of surprise was on your side.

Mando's voice crackled through the comms, low and steady. "Nice work. Let's keep moving before more show up." You nodded, adrenaline coursing through you, ready to face whatever came next.

You moved stealthily down the hallway, your lightsaber slicing through the air as you dispatched stormtroopers with precision. Each strike was swift and fluid, adrenaline fueling your every movement. Finally, you approached the door to the room where you sensed the Child, Gorgu, had been taken.
