Part 1 - Teo's New House

"Hey babe"

Mateo Arias walked up to me and pulled me into a warm hug. I had been waiting for almost an hour for him at the bus stop.

"Hey" I was shivering but glad to see him. "What took you so long?"

"Sorry babe, traffic. I can't wait to show you my new place." He kissed me on the cheek and I grinned.

"I can't wait to see it!" I shivered again. I hadn't expected it to be this cold so I was in a thin shirt and shorts.

"Awh babe are you cold?" He took off his hoodie and wrapped it around me. It was way too big but it was warm and comfy so I gladly accepted. He walked me up to his dark green Range Rover and helped me into the passenger seat. Once he had closed the door I leant against it and dozed off quite quickly; it was a long journey ahead.

I came to and heard Teo talking, then I heard a muffled male voice and guessed he was on the phone. I kept my eyes closed.

"What? Why?" Teo sounded annoyed.

"Come on, you know I've got Brooke coming over!" Teo whined. A muffled voice replied, then Teo sighed and spoke again.

"Fine. Just don't get in our way." He hung up and I put my hand on his arm as I sat up.

"Hey babe, you ok?" he ran a hand through his short black hair as he said,

"Yeah, uhm, babe, my brother Moises is gonna be at my place for a couple of nights"

"Why?" I was annoyed, I was hoping to have some peace and quiet, just me and Teo.

"He had an argument with his landlord and got kicked out, mom and dad won't let him stay with them so he needs to crash at mine for a bit until he can get a new place."

There was a tense silence as I got my head around it. I nodded and faced outside. My breath fogged up the window so I drew a smiley face on it with 'I <3 Teo' underneath.

"Wipe it off with your sleeve, so it doesn't leave a mark."

I did and all trace of my artwork was removed. Rain droplets started to hit the window.

"Not again" Teo moaned. It had rained loads in the past week, causing floods across the U.S.

"How far away are we?" I asked, changing the subject. I had to raise my voice a little over the rain, and strained to hear Teo's reply as it started pouring down.

"Not far, about 10 minutes away" I nodded and turned the radio on, singing along to my favourite tunes. Before I knew it we had arrived.

The house was amazing. It was all made of beautiful oak wood and there were huge glass windows showing the kitchen, lounge and part of the bedroom. I just stood there staring at it until Teo said,

"You haven't seen anything yet babe"

He led me inside and helped me put my bags by the coats in the hallway. When we walked into the lounge I stopped in my tracks. There was someone on the sofa, and they were watching TV while eating some Doritos in a bowl with some dips.

"Dude, come on, how long have you been here?" The stranger turned around and faced us. He had dark brown hair and brown eyes, which were glinting mischievously at Teo.

"About half an hour"

Teo shook his head as he put some empty glasses in the dishwasher. It was really tense and awkward as I stood there, the guy on the sofa staring at me while I looked at the floor.

"Babe, this is my brother Moises." Teo said as he grabbed some clean glasses and filled them with water.

"Hey" I said to Moises. I'd heard about him but never met him before. He stood up and came up to greet me. I had my hand ready to shake his but he ignored it and kissed me on the cheek. I wanted to slap him but Teo led me out of the room, oblivious to his brothers actions. Moises winked at me on the way out and I blushed.

I took off my Uggs and put them with Teo's shoes, collected my bags and followed Teo into his room. It was amazing.

There was a huge fishtank in the wall with fish of all colours in, and a huge window showing hills with wild horses running around. There was a huge double bed, a TV + sofa and a computer area that had all of his music making kits. There was a large box on the bed.

"What's that on the bed?" I couldn't help asking.

"A present for you babe" he said, and he put the drinks and some crisps on the coffee table between the dark brown sofa and white bed. He picked me up and I squealed as he plonked me onto the bed and tickled me. My dark brown side fringe fell into my eyes but I pushed it out again. He stopped and handed me the shiny silver box.

I pulled the lid open, trembling and gasped. It was a fully professional microphone, pop filter and stand. Also, the microphone was bright blue, my favourite colour!

"Awh babe! It must have cost you loads!"

"Anything for my Brookie Cookie" I laughed at his use of the nickname that he made up when we first met.

"Come on, let's test it!" he said and jumped up, taking the stand with him. I picked up the wireless mic and pop filter and followed him. He walked over to the computer station, which was a desk with a mac on, with three monitors displaying different softwares and things I didn't half understand.

He had assembled the stand and when I was stood next to it he adjusted the height. He took the pop filter off of me and attached it in the right place on the stand. He asked for the microphone and when I gave it to him he took a small USB plug thing out of the bottom. He explained that when he plugged it into the computer it would connect to the wireless mic and use it to record. I nodded and took the microphone back off him. Placing it into the stand, I was all set. He positioned me in front of the white wall he had done especially for his videos, and started recording with his HD Camera. He played my favourite track. It was Girl On Fire by Alicia Keys. I clicked on the mic and started to sing.
