Percy Jackson's Log
Date: September 8, 2019
Let me tell you, despite being a demigod and having gone through some of the most unusual adventures one could imagine, I never thought I'd end up in a prison cell, let alone a cell in New York, but before we get to that part, let's back up a little bit and talk about what got me to this point.
Spoiler: it wasn't a normal day in Central Park.
It was one of those perfect days in New York. The sun was shining, the air was clear, and Central Park seemed like an oasis of tranquility in the midst of the bustle of the city. And I was there, trying to enjoy a rare day off, when suddenly I felt that feeling. The same one you feel when you are in the middle of a shootout, and at the same time in a fight against monsters.... Then my demigod sixth sense was turned on, and I went on alert.
At first I thought it might be a joke from the gods, some sort of trick to interrupt my days off from the navy, since I was on leave, a well-deserved leave.
But NO, the feeling was too real and too unsettling, so, with the same attitude as a hero in a movie who has just heard a cry for help, I headed towards the source of the magical disturbance and what I found was not exactly what I expected.
In the center of Central Park, an ancient structure began to materialize. It wasn't like the Greek or Roman constructions I'm used to seeing; This was more like a mix with styles from different eras and cultures, with an appearance that reminded me of a building taken from an epic fantasy, or from a fantasy and magic series or movie. It was as if someone had decided to combine everything and decided to make it appear in the park.
And as if that wasn't enough, a horseman emerged from the structure itself, but before anyone could get his attention he returned inside, only for an entire army of invaders to appear a few minutes later. Not just any army, but a surreal mix of monsters and soldiers.
The monsters looked like something out of a mix of movies, TV series, and anime that mortals like, while the soldiers looked like a cheap version of the Legion members.
Seriously, if they had had a TV show, it would have been a hit because of its lack of originality.
To make matters worse, the inhabitants of New York were, as expected, completely confused and astonished. Some were paralyzed while they took out their cell phones to take photos or record believing that it was a show, very few had enough common sense to flee from there.
But I, with my demigod instinct at its maximum, knowing that I could not allow chaos to spread throughout the city, did not have time to wait for reinforcements to arrive; so I had to do something to contain the invaders.
