The night on the private island had taken a turn. After a day spent soaking up the sun, enjoying the yacht, and indulging in the chef-prepared BBQ, we found ourselves lounging around the firepit. The waves lapped gently against the shore, the soft breeze rustling the palm trees, but the peaceful atmosphere was quickly overtaken by the wild energy of the group.
Bella, still riding high on the buzz from the wine, leaned forward with a mischievous grin. "Okay, everyone. You know what time it is."
I raised an eyebrow, already feeling a sense of dread creeping in. "What are you talking about?"
Bella gave me a wicked smile. "Truth or dare, Tristan. It's happening."
Leila, who was sitting next to Bella, laughed, nudging her playfully. "You're terrible, you know that?"
Alessa, ever the one to stay composed, glanced at Bella with a bemused expression but didn't protest. Vanessa, on the other hand, gave her sister a warning look. "Bella, keep it in check."
Bella rolled her eyes. "Oh, come on. It's just a game. You know it's going to be fun. Besides, we're all adults here."
I glanced at Vanessa, and she sighed, clearly resigned to the fact that Bella wasn't going to drop the idea. "Fine," Vanessa said, leaning back into her chair. "But let's not get too crazy."
Bella flashed a grin, satisfied with the green light. "I make no promises."
She looked around the group, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Alright, I'll start. Leila, truth or dare?"
Leila grinned, clearly up for whatever Bella had in store. "Dare."
Bella's smile widened. "I dare you to kiss me. And not a peck, either. A proper kiss."
Leila chuckled, shaking her head but leaning in without hesitation. "You're shameless, you know that?"
Bella just laughed as Leila leaned in, planting a slow, deliberate kiss on her lips. The rest of us sat there, watching with varying degrees of amusement and awkwardness. When they pulled apart, Bella wiped her mouth dramatically and winked. "See? That wasn't so hard."
Leila leaned back, smirking. "You're lucky you're cute."
Bella clapped her hands together. "Okay, Leila, your turn."
Leila glanced around, her eyes settling on me. I tensed, already dreading what was coming. "Tristan," she said, her voice playful, "truth or dare?"
I hesitated for a moment, weighing my options. Neither felt particularly safe with this group. "Truth," I finally said, figuring it was the lesser of two evils.
Leila grinned. "Have you ever had a one-night stand?"
I could feel my face flush instantly as everyone's eyes turned to me, waiting for my answer. I swallowed hard, trying to keep my cool. "Uh... no. I haven't."
Bella, ever the instigator, let out a dramatic sigh. "Boooring! Come on, Tristan, we're supposed to be having fun!"
I shot her a look, feeling the heat in my face. "What? I'm just telling the truth!"
Leila laughed, leaning back into her seat. "Fair enough. Alright, your turn, Tristan."
I glanced around the group, unsure of who to target next. My eyes landed on Alessa, who had been relatively quiet so far, sipping her drink and watching the game unfold with a kind of amused detachment. I smirked, deciding to bring her into the chaos.
"Alessa," I said, my voice steady, "truth or dare?"
Alessa raised an eyebrow, clearly not expecting to be dragged into it so soon. "Dare," she said after a moment, her voice calm but curious.
