"B?" I said. "How-what-how?" My brow furrowed.
"Gen, you are my wife. The thought of you having to cope with all this without me here....."
Brendon cupped my face and kissed me. Patsy smirked and put the kettle on.
I sat down with Brendon and explained everything.
"So what's wrong with you if you don't have leukaemia?" Brendon asked. I held his hand, my breath shaky.
"Brendon, I'm pregnant." I said. Brendons head shot up when I said this.
"Y-you are?"
I nodded and smiled. Brendon embraced me.
"I have an ultrasound scan appointment this afternoon. That's why I said that I wished you were here. I didn't want you to miss it. I was prepared to try and facetime if I could." I said as I held Brendon to me. I kissed the top of his head.
"It's a good job I came when I did then, isn't it?" Brendon looked into my eyes.
"It certainly is. It's been the longest month without you, B." I sighed and kissed him.
"It has Gen. How did the interview go, or did you cancel it?"
"He offered me the job,B."I replied. Brendon grinned and kissed me.
"My clever wife." He said.
"But doesn't the baby change things?" I asked.
"What do you mean?" Brendons brow furrowed.
"Well, once I have the baby, I will be on maternity leave and out of the office."
"Genna, the job is a remote position. Your office is wherever there's WiFi, and you have your laptop. Michael does have an office, but he's rarely there. He's normally off doing things for his label. Promotion and stuff. You are the one that has to put these things into place. When the baby is born, Michael will have to find someone temporarily. " I nodded and smiled. I checked the time.
"B, we need to go." I got up and put my bag over my shoulder.

We walked into the anti natal department hand in hand. It was fairly quiet. Saturday afternoon, and the weather was beautiful.
I confirmed my appointment with reception, and we sat down. More or less immediately, I was called into a room.
"Hello, Mrs Urie. Are you Mr Urie?" The sonographer asked. Brendon nodded.
"Do you know how far along you are?" Dawn asked. That was her name. I shook my head. I proceeded to tell her everything that happened yesterday. Dawn shook her head.
"A complete surprise then?" Dawn asked, and we both nodded. "Ok, Mrs Urie, can you lay on the bed for me, please?" I did as she asked. Brendon held my hand and kissed it.
Dawn lifted my t-shirt and pulled my shorts down a little bit. She put some gel on my stomach, which was cold and welcome in the heat. Dawn put the wand on my stomach and looked at the screen.
"Oh wow." She said.
"What?" Brendon and I asked in unison. Dawn turned the monitor so we could see our baby.
"You look to be about 4 months pregnant." I gasped because I didn't have a bump. I looked at our baby, and I turned to look at Brendon, who was crying.
I smiled and turned back to our baby. Then my tears started. Our baby. Dawn took measurements of the baby to make sure they were growing correctly.
"Do you want to know what you are having?" Dawn asked.
"You can tell? "Brendon asked. Dawn nodded. "What do you think, babe?" He asked me. I was inpatient most of the time anyway. I nodded yes.
"Ok, you are having.......a girl." I cried out, and Brendon hugged me. "Ok, I will print you some pictures off and send some to your obstetrician. Who is...."Dawn went into my notes, "Dr. Greene."
"Ok." I said.
"You have an appointment with her next week." Dawn printed out the scan pictures and my appointment details. She wiped my stomach, and I got off the bed. Brendon kissed me, and we left the hospital.
I needed to go into town for a few things, so I suggested we drive to Portsmouth as the shops were better there.

30 minutes later, we arrived. I parked and we headed towards the shopping centre. I needed to go into Primark and River Island. I needed some new clothes.
As I browsed in Primark, Brendon wandered off. I picked some leggings, shirts, and sandals up. Plus, new underwear.
Brendon came back, and he had got some new shorts, shirts, and underwear for himself. Then he showed me what else he had picked up. Pink onesies. And little, pink baby booties, a pink baby blanket, and a little pink teddy bear. My heart. I kissed Brendon, and we went to pay.
We got a few things in River Island and then headed back to the car. That was when Brendon suggested that we go and see my parents and show them the scan pictures. I nodded in agreement.
