The sun was setting over Konoha as Akira and the team returned to the village, their mission successful. The rogue shinobi had been dealt with, and the stolen supplies were safely in their hands. The weight of her accomplishment pressed on her as they passed through the village gates. This wasn't just a victory; it was her first step toward establishing herself as a force in the shinobi world.
As they arrived at the Hokage's office, Hideki motioned for Akira to follow him while the others took the supplies to storage. They moved quickly through the village streets, and soon Akira found herself standing before the Hokage's door once again.
Hideki knocked twice before entering, bowing briefly. "Lord Hokage, the mission was a success. All the stolen goods were recovered, and the rogues have been eliminated."
The Hokage looked up from his desk, his sharp eyes locking onto Akira. "Good. And what of our new associate?" he asked, motioning toward her with a subtle nod.
Hideki stood tall, his expression respectful but firm. "She more than proved her worth. Her traps and weapons gave us a significant advantage in the battle. I recommend we move forward with the arrangement."
The Hokage's lips curved into a faint smile, one that was both approving and calculating. "Thank you, Hideki. You're dismissed."
As Hideki left, closing the door behind him, Akira was left alone with the Hokage. She could feel the weight of his gaze, but she stood her ground, her heart steady.
"Impressive," the Hokage said, leaning back in his chair. "You've demonstrated not only skill but also resourcefulness and quick thinking. Traits that will serve you well in Konoha, should you decide to stay."
Akira inclined her head slightly, her voice calm and measured. "I intend to stay, Lord Hokage. Konoha is the perfect place for me to establish my business, and I believe I can be of great value to the village."
The Hokage folded his hands in front of him, his expression thoughtful. "Indeed. Your creations, chakra-infused weapons that repair themselves and traps that disorient the enemy are unique. You could provide Konoha with a significant advantage, both in commerce and on the battlefield."
Akira smiled subtly. This was exactly where she wanted the conversation to go. "My goal is to establish a partnership with Konoha. In exchange for resources and protection, I will provide the village with priority access to my weapons and tools. These will not only improve the lives of shinobi but also bolster Konoha's reputation as a center of innovation."
The Hokage stood and walked toward the large window, gazing out over the village. The setting sun cast an orange glow over the rooftops, creating a peaceful yet powerful scene.
"Konoha has always valued those who bring strength and innovation to the village," he said quietly. "But loyalty is just as important. I must ensure that this partnership benefits the village in the long run."
Akira stepped forward slightly, her tone serious. "I understand, Lord Hokage. My loyalty will lie with Konoha, and my creations will remain exclusive to this village as long as we maintain our agreement. I have no interest in serving other nations."
The Hokage turned to face her, his blue eyes piercing. "And what do you require in return?"
Akira took a deep breath, laying out her terms. "I'll need a forge and a workshop. Access to raw materials, metal, chakra-infused ores, anything I can use to create my weapons. In return, I'll provide Konoha with a steady supply of weapons and tools, as well as special commissions for elite shinobi. I can also assist in developing defensive measures for the village."
The Hokage was silent for a moment, considering her words. Then, slowly, he nodded. "Very well. I'll have the necessary resources allocated to you. A forge and workshop will be prepared within the week, and you will be provided with a steady supply of materials."
Akira felt a surge of triumph but kept her expression calm. "Thank you, Lord Hokage. I won't disappoint you."
He returned to his desk, picking up a scroll. "One more thing, Akira. I understand you intend to sell your products. That's fine, but know that certain weapons will require approval before being distributed to the general public. Some things are too dangerous to fall into the wrong hands."
Akira nodded. "Of course. I'll work closely with you to ensure that Konoha's interests are always protected."
The Hokage handed her the scroll, which outlined the terms of their agreement. "This will serve as the foundation of our partnership. Should you prove your loyalty and continue to deliver results, I see no reason why this couldn't develop into something long-term."
Akira accepted the scroll, her fingers brushing the smooth paper. This was it, the contract that would officially bind her to Konoha and begin her rise as a renowned merchant and creator.
"Consider this a test phase," the Hokage added, his tone more relaxed now. "If your weapons and innovations truly give Konoha an edge, we will expand our partnership further."
Akira bowed slightly. "I look forward to it."
As Akira left the Hokage's office, the scroll tucked securely under her arm, she couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement. She had done it. Not only had she completed the mission and proven her worth, but she had also secured a deal with Konoha's most powerful figure.
Her mind raced with ideas for her forge and workshop. She envisioned rows of chakra-infused weapons, shimmering with the natural energy they absorbed. Special commissions for elite shinobi, tools and weapons that would give them an edge in battle. And beyond that, the expansion of her business to other villages and nations, all under the watchful eye of Konoha.
But first, she had to establish herself here. The Hokage's words still echoed in her mind, this was a test phase. She needed to show that her creations weren't just valuable but essential.
I need to create something that will make them realize they can't live without my work, she thought as she walked through the streets of the village.
As she passed through the bustling market, she caught sight of a familiar face, Mika, the young shinobi from the mission. She was browsing through a weapons stall, testing out various kunai.
Akira approached her, offering a nod of acknowledgment. "Mika."
Mika looked up, a hint of surprise in her green eyes. "Akira. Didn't expect to see you here."
"I wanted to thank you for your help during the mission," Akira said. "Your skills were impressive."
Mika shrugged, a small smile tugging at her lips. "You weren't too bad yourself. Your traps saved us a lot of trouble."
Akira glanced at the kunai Mika was inspecting. They were standard issue, well-made but nothing special. She reached into her cloak and pulled out one of her own chakra-infused kunai, offering it to Mika.
"Here," she said. "Consider it a gift."
Mika hesitated, then took the kunai, turning it over in her hand. She could feel the subtle hum of chakra energy coursing through it. "This is... different. You made this?"
Akira nodded. "It's one of my creations. It absorbs natural chakra to repair itself. Give it a try."
Mika's eyes lit up with curiosity and excitement. "I'll definitely try it out. Thanks."
As Akira watched Mika walk away, she couldn't help but smile. She had already begun planting the seeds of her influence in Konoha, and soon enough, her weapons would be in the hands of shinobi across the village.
But that, will be in the future.
