Beyond Obsession

PROLOGUE

"Ugh, it's so hot!!" my friend complained, seeming annoyed. I just laughed at what she said.

We walked until we reached the second waiting shed. We came from the mall. They didn't want to ride from the other waiting shed, especially Sapphire. She said there are many perverts there.

Upon hearing my laughter, she added, "That's because you're pretty, you can still look good even when sweating like that."

"Relax, do you want me to buy us some soft drinks?" I asked.

"No need, it's already hot and we'd still have to walk on the scorching road," she said.

"Okay, bahala ka," I replied.

"You should find a rich boyfriend, so you won't have to walk and won't have to ride a tricycle, but instead, you'll ride in a car with aircon." My friend Zey said.

"You're the one who should find a rich boyfriend, Zey! I don't want a boyfriend yet, geez!"

"Calm down, Sapphire. You're going to have high blood pressure."

"Shut up." Sapphire said, letting out a sight

"Oh, stop it already, you two, or it might escalate into a fight later." I told them. I knew Zey was just joking with Sapphire. That's what she does when she's bored - Sapphire's always her target.

"Fine, I'll shut up," Sapphire said. An awkward silence fell among the three of us.

"Hays..."

"May problema ba, Zey?"
Sapphire asked.

"Wala naman," Zey said.

"Weh?" Sapphire.

"Nothing's wrong I'm telling you!" Zey

"We? sure?" Sapphire.

""Fine, I'll just share my problem with you.. Para hindi kana tanong nang tanong."

"Porket nag hays lang may problema na agad. Hindi ba pwedeng sobrang init lang."

"Whatever." Wika ni Sapphire sabay irap kay Zey. Napailing nalang ako sa kanilang dalawa.

"The tricycle is taking so long, ang init init na talaga here!" Sapphire exclaimed, slightly irritated

"Ang init init na talaga here!" Zey teased, There she goes again, she's teasing Sapphire again.

"Alam mo hindi bagay sayo ang mag reklamo, mabuti sana kung kasing cute
ka ni Yamira." Pang-aasar pa ni Zey.
Sapphire gave Zey a angry stare.

"Hey!" I said with a chuckle. Sapphire's getting really annoyed. Her face is turning red, probably from the heat or maybe anger. Suddenly, I was surprised when Sapphire walked out. Zey just laughed.

"Pigilan mo, Zey!" Sabi ko sakaniya.

"Hey! Sapphire, come back!" I shouted to Sapphire.

"Let her be, Yamira. She'll just wait under the tree anyway," Zey said.

"Anyway, it's better there than this waiting shed," I said. "She probably couldn't take the heat, so she went to the tree." I added.

A few minutes passed, Sapphire called us. Zey and I immediately approached her. When we reached her, she suddenly said, "You two are so resilient, enduring the heat over there." Sapphire said.

"Ikaw lang naman ang hindi makatiis." Zey.

"Kanina kapa, Zey!"

"Are you running out of patience?" Zey asked.

"Yes! So be quiet! Baka masabunutan kita diyan!" She said angrily.

Ewan ko talaga sa dalawang to, laging nagbabardagulan.

A few minutes passed, and none of them spoke. I couldn't help but stare at them. Sapphire is a beautiful woman, fair-skinned with smooth complexion. She has a pointed nose, pinkish lips, a small face, and straight hair. You'd mistake her for having foreign ancestry due to her appearance.

But her parents are pure Filipinos.
No wonder many guys have fallen for her. She's sweet but has a sassy side.

If she doesn't like you or dislikes something about your behavior, her maldita side will definitely show.

Meanwhile, Zey is a morena. She has long eyelashes, kissable lips, a pointed nose, and a small face, even smaller than Sapphire's.

She's also tall, with slightly curly hair. Many guys have fallen for her too.
They like Zey because she's helpful, kind, humble, an excellent dancer, and singer. She's also skilled in playing various instruments like the guitar, drums, piano, violin, and more.

Zey's a talented woman. No wonder many guys fall for her, even more than Sapphire and me. Some guys have also been flirting with me, but I'm not planning on having a boyfriend yet. For me, it's just a distraction.

Zey's got a bit of a tomboy vibe going on, always looking so confident, but she also wears feminine clothes when she's in the mood.

Zey's really well-known; she's like a celebrity. We go anywhere, and people always recognize her. Check, here comes Dev - I knew he'd say hi.

"Hi, Architect Dervano." Masiglang bati ng lalaki. See, I was right.

"Hindi pa ako ganap na Architect, Dev."
Zey said. "Nakaka-pressure.What if I fail? That'd be embarrassing" She said sarcastically

"Anong hindi? Ikaw babagsak, ngek!"

"You have so much faith in me, Dev, as much as Sapphire's anger towards me."
Zey said, looking at Sapphire's sitting in the empty chair, while the rest of us stood.

"Oh, bakit ako nadamay diyan?!" Sapphire exclaimed, getting annoyed. "Nanahimik ako here ha!"

"Nanahimik ako here ha!" Dev laughed at Zey's teasing. A few seconds later, Sapphire approached Dev and asked,
"Anong nakakatawa?"

"Wala" Sagot ni Dev.

"Ah wala......o pwede kanang umalis." Anito sabay turo sa daan.

Dev hesitated for a few seconds before Sapphire spoke up again, "Aalis ka or aalis ka?!"

"Leave already, Dev, or she might kick you." Zey said sarcastically.

"Dalawa kayong tatamaan sakin!" 

"Okay, I'm leaving now," Paalam nito.

"Architect Dervano, I'm going now." Zey just nodded. The guy quickly left, even waving at Zey.

I told Zey, "Someone might fight you again."

"Who?" She asked.

"Those who have a crush on Dev," I replied.

"Ah, okay," she said nonchalantly and sat down.

"Don't worry, Yamira. Sapphire's got my back. Siya lalaban para sakin." She glanced at Sapphire.

"Too bad I'm not into Dev. Why would I fight for you? You're annoying me, and then you say 'Don't worry, Yamira. Sapphire's got my back. siya lalaban para sakin' Sapphire mo muka mo!!
