"Let's sit next to Miss Grumpy Pants," Zey said, eyeing Sapphire with her earbuds in.

Seleira was wearing earbuds and sitting in the empty chair across from us.

"Pag narinig ka niyan...lagot ka."

"She won't hear us, her earbuds are too loud."

Indeed, the volume was blasting; we could hear it clearly. Sapphire had her eyes closed, lost in the music. She was obviously holding back from singing aloud, probably worried Zey would tease her.

"Pigil pa," Zey said.

"You might tease her," I said.
But Zey didn't respond, she's like that when she's too lazy to talk. Sometimes, when you try to talk to her, she just stares at you without saying a word.

A few minutes passed when a vehicle stopped in front of us. Shortly after, the window opened, and I immediately recognized the owner - my mom's best friend, who wanted to adopt me.

They've been wanting to adopt me for a long time, but I refused. I can take care of myself. I can continue my studies on my own. My parents passed away in an accident. I lost them early.

"How are you, Yamira?" Tita Lohrein asked with a smile. She's in her 40s, but still looks lovely. She and my mom have been friends for a long time, and her husband is also friends with my dad.

Ang asawa nito ang nasa driver seat.

"Okay naman po." I replied with a smile.

"Good to hear that. Hop in, we'll give you a ride," she offered.

"Nako....wag na po." Sabi ko, my two friends just stared at me.

"Come on, Yamira, don't be stubborn," Tito Landro said.

"Ano aangal kapa?" Sapphire whispered.

"Not wearing earbuds anymore?" I whispered back.

" Obvious naman, Yamira."
"Sige ho sasakay na kami." Sapphire said, then walked towards the vehicle, getting in first. Zey and I exchanged hesitant glances before following.

Nang makaupo na kami sa loob ng sasakyan biglang nag tanong si Zey.

Once we're inside, Zey asked, "Where's your shame, Sapphire?"

"Bakit?"

"I just want to know where it went."

I silently listened to their exchange.

"You don't need to know. Just be quiet," Sapphire replied.

"I'll still tease you," Zey whispered.

"What did you say?" Sapphire asked.

"Nothing."

"Okay."

They fell silent for a few minutes until Sapphire gave me a questioning glance.

"Ano?" I asked.

Sapphire whispered, "Tita has a son, right?"

Before I could respond, Zey whispered, "Oo, Sapphire."

They have a son, an only child. From what I know, he's super suplado . Not just a suplado, but extremely suplado."

"Try talking to him, I doubt he'll even respond," Zey said.

"Bakit? Suplado ba?" Sapphire asked.

"Just try it and see," Zey suggested.

Sapphire declined, "No, I can already guess."

"I'm glad you know." I whispered, thinking one reason I dislike the idea of being adopted is their son's aloofness. I don't want conflicts or stress.

Tita Lohrein asked, "How's your studies going, all three of you?"

"Okay naman po" Sabay na sagot namin ni Sapphire.

Zey remained silent, unsure if she didn't hear or was avoiding the question. I couldn't read her thoughts; she keeps her problems to herself.

We arrived after half an hour, near our homes. We thanked Tita Lohrein.

"Yamira..." Tita Lohrein got out of the vehicle.

"What is it, Tita?" I asked.

"Have you decided on my offer?"

"Sorry po....tita" Nakayukong sabi ko.

"Call me if you change your mind," Tita said.

"Opo," Sabi ko.Tita just smiled and hugged me before leaving, Kumaway pa siya sa akin.

"She's so kind," Sapphire said with a smile, looking tired.

"You seem exhausted." Sabi ko.

"Yeah." She replied.

"Why?" I asked.

"The other waiting shed is far."

"Sabi mo kasi sa kabilang waiting shed dadaan."

"Sorry, there are many weirdos there."

"Hays, ewan ko sayo. I wanted to ask Zey something else, but she was already gone," I said.

"She's already entered their house." She said.

As I turned to leave, Sapphire stopped me.

"I just found out Tita and Tito are on vacation again here. I was surprised when they stopped in front of us earlier. I quickly removed my earbuds when I saw her, you know...gusto ko kasing malaman kung ano sasabihin niya. hehe."

"Chismosa"

"Medyo"

"Ewan ko sayo, I'm entering my house, bye."

"Bye, Siling labuyo!"

"Siling labuyo ka diyan!" Sita ko sakanya.
She just laughed.

I entered my house and headed to my room to rest. I'm always tired when I get home. I have a part-time job at 7:00 PM and will return at 10:00 PM. I checked the time: still 5:00 PM. I can nap for a bit.

Sorry for the grammatical errors, I'm not good at English.
