Beyond Obsession

CHAPTER 5

We're eating quietly downstairs now. Neither of us is talking. I can't eat well because he keeps looking at me. He finished eating already, he only ate a little, and now he's staring at me like he's watching me. He's like a parent watching a child, getting angry if I don't eat.

"Can you please stop staring at me? I can't eat properly." Sabi ko. Pero parang wala siyang narinig.

Hinayaan ko nalang until I finished eating. I stood up and headed to the sink to wash my dishes, but he stopped me. "I'll do it," he said.

I just let him have his way and quietly went upstairs. He's actually kind, but maybe just for now. I'm sitting on my bed, thinking about what to do next. I reached for my phone on the bedside table and called my two friends. I sent a message on our group chat.

"Me: Hello, may ginagawa kayo?"

"Zey: typings...."

"Zey: Wala naman akong ginagawa."

"Me: Where's Sapphire?" Tanong ko.

"Zey replied to your message: Idk."

"Let's vc, Zey."

I clicked on the video call, and Zey's face appeared. Wow, she's stunning even without makeup. "How do you always look so beautiful?" I asked.

Zey replied, "I don't know, I just woke up like this."

"So, have you seen Tita's child?" Zey suddenly asked.

I hesitated, unsure if I should share what happened earlier. I was afraid of her reaction.

"Umm... yeah, just earlier," I replied.

Zey stared at me intensely, as if reading my mind.

"So, how's his behavior towards you?" she asked.

"Okay naman," I replied.

An awkward silence fell between us. Then Sapphire joined the video call. "You didn't wait for me!" she said.

"Why would we wait?" Zey replied.

"Because we're friends?" Sapphire asked.

"We wouldn't wait, maybe you're dating... who was it, Zey?" I asked Zey.

"Zion," Zey said.

"Ah, Zion!" I exclaimed.

"Hey Zey! You're the one who said I had a crush on him, but I really don't!" Sapphire shouted.

Zey just raised an eyebrow, making sapphire angrier.

"You're lucky I consider you a friend, baka matagal na kitang pinatay." Sapphire shouted louder.

"Kill me with love," Zey said with a smile.

Sapphire replied, "Gaga tomboy ka ata e, ewww" maarteng sabi ni Sapphire.

Zey responded, "I'm straight."

Sapphire teased, "Maybe you're not sure if you're straight."

I listened as they continued their conversation. Eventually, Sapphire and Zey said their goodbyes.

After the video call ended, I felt bored. I thought about arguing with Savier, but that was a bad idea. Instead, I decided to leave my room and watch TV in the living room.
I can watch here, but I don't feel like it.

As I opened the door, someone suddenly appeared, and I got hit on the forehead. "Aray ha, that hurts!" I exclaimed.

"Are you okay? Sorry, it was an accident," he said with concern.
