CHAPTER TWO. Cody Collins.

I think Cody might have become my best friend over the week ?
And yes I think because I don't actually know what that's supposed to be like , people like me , people want to be around me , they want to be me.. but they're not my friends , they're fans.
Cody hasn't asked a single question about my family or the fame for that matter although he's told me a LOT about him ..

When Cody was younger his dad always wanted him to do sports which is why he started doing rugby , he became pretty good at it surprisingly as he doesn't actually enjoy it.

When he was 13 he found out he was gay , quite ironically he actually got a crush on a boy he sat next to every Sunday at church.
He really liked the boy so Cody being Cody decided to confess his feelings with full confidence.. which ended in him being bullied the next day and casted out at school and in his neighbourhood. 

After his parents started hearing the "rumors" they moved.
Completely.. to a different country.
But Cody knew who he was and he wasn't planning on hiding it.. sure getting rejected sucked but just like any 13 year old after you act like you're gonna die everything is fine again once you get another idiotic crush on the next guy.
Not that I can relate to that .. I don't think I've ever had a crush but as Cody said that's exactly what happened.
His first boyfriend.. untill his parents found them holding hands and decided to move again ofcourse because they thought the guy was as they called it "attempting to turn their son into a sinner.".
So again.. onto the next crush after he got over the "heartbreak" of breaking up with his first boyfriend.

And the next.. and the next.. and onto the guy who he lost his virginity to at age 15 .. who dumped him 3 days later..
So .. moved again after he was outed to the whole school and community after that.. his parents still didn't believe it , Cody thinks they knew but they were too scared to face it.
Cody gave up on the idea of relationships and started sleeping around when he was 16.
Cody quickly found out he could get any guy he wanted with just his body and his pretty face.
His words , not mine but I guess he is pretty.
And once again he gave relationships another shot.. and moving another shot.
Whatever.

Eventually word got to his parents that he "fucks like a pornstar" yeah.. not really something you want your parents to hear.
His parents ofcourse didn't want to believe any of this so they didn't talk about it and instead kept moving places.
Cody got sick of his parents ignorance and finally came out to them when his parents told him they were gonna move because people were making 'sinfull' rumours about their precious son.
So the church camps started every break , sometimes they even send him on weekends and he was made to go church 3 times a week.

Finally they stopped moving around however , his dad went back to being a pastor at the local church and every few days he would call Cody in for a private discussion about his "sins" which usually went like this..
They sat in silence for about an hour before Cody's dad simply told him to pray more and dismissed him. 

Why did they send him to an all boys university you might ask ?
Because they thought taking him away from girls while he heard all the other guys talk about their girlfriends and "wonderfull" experiences would make him .. straight ?
yeah , I don't know.

Cody was right , I did get used to how much he talks although it's tempting to throw shit at his head sometimes I mean this guy has no shame whatsoever , instead of returning the spare keycard he basically just .. took it from me which means he has full access to my room anytime , it sucks because WHO WAKES UP AT 7 EVERY DAMN DAY ??
He says church camp kind of drilled that part into him.
It's 2 pm now.

"You think your roommate's gonna be here today ?" he then asks .. you see I wouldn't mind his constant yapping if he wasn't asking me stupid questions all the time.
"I don't know Cody." I tell him , taking a sip of my coffee.
"Hm." he hums as we're walking along the building.

Today's the day most people are arriving so they can join the events before classes start next week , I sit with Cody on a small patch of grass underneath the tree behind the dorm building after we got coffee at the little coffee shop.
I sip from my coffee as Cody talks "Do you think my roommate will be hot ?" he asks , I snort "I pray for the poor guy that he's not." Cody scoffs in response and nudges my shoulder.
I smirk as I glance at him before I notice the black paint on his nails , yesterday they were red.
He's not wearing make up like he was yesterday , he's pretty good at it if that matters at all coming from someone who hasn't touched a make up brush in his life .. well it's not like I didn't get dolled up for shoots but that's wasn't my doing.

He pulls out a cigarette from the packet in his pocket , putting it between his lips before he lights it and takes a lazy drag.
"You only have one thing on your mind every fucking day don't you ?" I guestion.
Cody chuckles "Just be happy you're not my type Vinny , you'd be in for a rollercoaster."
I laugh at that one "You're forgetting that I'm also not gay."
"Mhm. Denial is the first step babycakes." Cody then says.
"I'm not in denial." I protest.
"You've never had a girlfriend , I'm pretty sure you're a virgin , you haven't once talked about a girl." Cody starts.
I cut him off "I've also not once talked about a guy." I say in my defence.
"The fact that you remember you didn't is suspcious enough plus you quite litteraly don't talk about anything , I have to force words out of your mouth every time I talk to you."

His words actually make me think , am I straight ?
I think I am ?
"And right now you're asking yourself if I might have a point which I infact do." Cody then says , I give him a glare in response before going back to sipping on my coffee while he finishes his cigarette.
We get up from the floor silently although the silence doesn't last long as we start walking "I hope he has black hair.. and tattoos." Cody says , nodding to himself.
"Your roommate ?" I question.
"Obviously." Cody says in that duh tone , I roll my eyes.
"What's your type ?" he then asks.
I think about the question for a moment before I shrug "I don't know ?"
Cody snorts "Boring."

"Whatever." I mumble.
We head to his room as he continues listing his expectations for his roommate.
When we get to his room I stop , the door is open but ofcourse that doesn't stop Cody from walking right in.. well I guess it's his room after all.
There's a boy unpacking stuff from his suitcase , he has brown curls , a golden skintone and when he looks over I notice his dark brown eyes who move from me to Cody "Hey man." he says as he faces Cody.
Cody holds out his hand without hesitation "Cody Collins." he introduces himself to the poor sucker that's gonna be stuck with him for the rest of the year.

The guy smirks at his forwardness and shakes his hand lazily "Haven." he says before he looks over at me , I look away , honestly not wanting him to talk to me but ofcourse Cody doesn't make that easy as he nods over to me "That's Vinny." 
"And Vinny is gonna go now." I say with a forced smile before I make my escape , heading to my own room , if my dad had been here he would have backhanded me for that.
When I approach my room I hear voices coming from my door , they're arguing.
I turn back around and instead leave the building.

I decide to go to the library.
When the sun sets I'm still in the library , Cody blows up my phone saying he's gonna get food with Haven and asking if I'm coming with them , seems like those two are getting along.
I tell him I already ate before I finally leave the library and start walking towards the dorms because as much as I would love to put this off I'm gonna have to meet my roommate eventually.
I'm just not looking forward to living in a tiny room with a total stranger for the next year , any sane person would feel the same way , just not Cody ofcourse.
