CHAPTER SEVEN. Passenger princess.

I should file a missing person's report at this point , Vinny keeps dissapearing to god knows where with that Zayne guy.
I'm getting the feeling Zayne doesn't exactly love me which is fine , I hate his guts too.
There's just one day left untill classes start , I've been hanging out with Haven a lot more when I'm not busy scolding Vin for missing out on basically the whole event week.
I'm behind the school with Haven and surprisingly Vinny , it's getting late however which means soon enough he'll be running off and jumping in Zayne's car.

I take the cigarette from Haven's lips after he lights it who in turn rolls his eyes when I take a drag.
I look at Vinny who narrows his eyes , already expecting my scolding but instead I tilt my head "You heading out later ?"
He shrugs "Probably."
"Where to ?"
He shrugs again "Don't know."
"You're gonna get kidnapped one of these days." I give him a pointed look.
Vinny suddenly looks down at his phone when he gets a text , I roll my eyes this time.
He looks back up from his phone "If you're so worried about me getting kidnapped you can just come along."
I snort "I'll dig my own grave before I get in Zayne's car."

Haven speaks up "I can drive." he takes the cigarette from my fingers as I watch him.
Vinny however laughs , I frown "What ?" I question.
"I mean nothing personal but you can't keep up with Zayne , let alone Preston.." Vin says as he looks at Haven.
Haven scoffs , crossing his arms over his chest.
"Who the fuck is Preston anyway ?" I ask , Vin shrugs "Zayne's friend. If you can't put up with Zayne , good luck with Preston." 

I narrow my eyes at the challenge in his tone "Oh we're going."

Just about an hour later all three of us walk out to the parking lot to meet Zayne , Vin walks over to Zayne who's standing by his car , meanwhile me and Haven make a beeline for his own car. 
I look over to Vinny who's now talking to Zayne and just then the devil looks over at me as if I'm the bane of his entire existence , I flip him off and he gives me the most faked smile I've ever seen in response.

I look over when someone obnoxiously revs their engine as they pull into the parkinglot , to no one's surprise the car parks right besides Zayne's car.
Haven whistles , I jab my elbow into his ribs "Shut up."
A guy steps out of the car , he's tall.. he walks around the car , giving Zayne a simple fistbump before he pulls Vin into his side and ruffles his hair , Vin slaps the guy's hand away while grinning , Vinny points over to me , when the guy looks over I freeze.
His piercing blue eyes bright and mischievious , even from this distance , I narrow my eyes and force myself to move , climbing into Haven's car.

Haven follows suit "So , that guy Preston then ?"
I snap my eyes to him "What ?"
He nods over to the guy.
"Oh.. I guess .. how the fuck am I supposed to know ?" I lean back and watch as Vin and Zayne get in his car , the guy gets in his own car.
Zayne revs his engine GOD HE'S FUCKING ANNOYING.
The guy I'm guessing actually is in fact Preston does the same before he pulls out of the parking , instead of leaving the way he came in however he drives across the field besides it , getting onto the road he takes off , Zayne follows him.
Haven stares after the cars , I nudge his shoulder "Drive." 

Haven gives me a look as if saying he's already regretting this , he starts his car "Whatever happens , forgive me." he whispers to his car before he pulls out of the parking lot , once we get on the road and catch up they suddenly start speeding , straight across the red light "What the fuck !" Haven yells as he steps on the breaks before the lights , once it turns green he steps on the gas , I keep my eyes on the cars ahead.
"We're gonna lose them." I say more to myself than him.
"What do you want me to do , crash our ass ? We'll get there." Haven hisses out , seemingly getting annoyed.
"Don't know about you but Vin didn't give me a location , Zayne told him that we should just keep up." I huff.

I had to end up calling Vin and telling him to make Zayne slow down , Preston ended up disappearing , eventually we get to a parking lot , the kind that has multiple stages , it's packed with cars that have their hoods open , music is blasting from a trunk , Haven parks his car , giving me a look of pure regret at coming here , I get out of the car "Look alive." I tell him before closing the door.
I look around , most of the girls are wearing miniskirts and hanging on guys arms.
I walk over to Vinny who's leaning back against Zayne's car , he seems comfortable enough with these people , they're all around Zayne and Vin , Preston , some red head , a short blonde guy , two girls come up to Preston , within seconds their hands are all over him.

I raise my eyebrow at the scene , Haven lets out a breath besides me "We should go , this looks like trouble Cody." he mumbles as he looks around , he shuts up however when the red head walks right up to him and starts asking about his car.
I look at Haven , the blush on his cheecks hard to miss.
I smirk and turn to Vinny "So , what is this shit ?" 
Instead of Vinny Preston speaks up "Drift race." 
I look over at him , ignoring the girls on either side of him.
Can't say I'm surprised after watching him drive..
"You racing ?" I ask.
He smirks "Why , you asking for a ride ?"
"Sounds boring." I lie , god I would kill to be in a car alone with him , maybe not when he's driving tho.
