>>>Kamari's POV
I sat on the edge of my bed, hugging my knees to my chest. Everything felt so different now. Mom and Dad used to be so happy, always laughing and holding hands. But now, it's like they're strangers living with kids.
I miss the way things used to be."Kamari, can you come help with something?"
Mom called from downstairs in the kitchen.
"Coming, Mom!" I wiped away a stray tear and forced a smile. I didn't want her to see me upset. She's already dealing with so much.
As I walked into the kitchen, I saw Mom struggling to pick up a bucket of mop water.
Her hands were shaking, and she looked so tired. I noticed she had been a little sickly lately. It made me sad to see her like this,
but I didn't know how to help."Here, let me get that for you," I said, picking up the bucket of water.
"Where do you want it?"
"In the dining room"
"Okay, no worries Mom I got you"
She gave me a grateful smile, but I could see the pain in her eyes.
"Thanks, sweetheart. You're such a big help."
"No problem, Mom."
I tried to sound cheerful, but it was hard. I missed the days when she was full of energy, dancing around, giggling, and just full of life.
After carrying the water to the living room,
I stayed around to help her and when we were done.I went to my room and pulled out an old photo album. Flipping through the pages, I found pictures of Mom and Dad when they were younger. They looked so in love, so happy. I wondered what happened to change all that.
