TW: Sexual Assault

After returning to her dorm and getting ready for the day, Matilda went to the library like she'd set out to do. She spent her entire morning and most of the midday sat at one of the big tables, piles and piles of books spread out around her, messily organised into groups: Potions, Herbology, Charms, Transfiguration, Care of Magical Creatures, Astronomy, and Ancient Runes. She felt well-equipped with knowledge for Defence, and History of Magic was a lost case, even with studying, so Matilda didn't see much point trying.

She finally decided to get up when she came across a particularly hard concept in a Potions book, describing the qualities of Galanthus Nivalis and its potential in future applications. It wasn't required content for O.W.L's, but Matilda found the study rather interesting and she wanted to know more about it.

She made her way down to the Dungeons, wrapping her grey sweater closer around her as the coolness seeped in. She approached Snape's office and knocked.

Matilda waited for a moment, leaning against the wall and pressed her palms into her eyes to block out the flickering flames that made her feel nauseous and slowly lowered herself to the ground. Her relief from the full moon was already wearing off and Matilda wondered if she had finally reached adulthood, like Professor Lupin said would happen soon.

Matilda took a deep breath, trying to ignore the ache in her chest as she did so.

When she removed her hands from her face, she saw two pairs of feet in front of her. It wasn't Fred or George because the shoes were too shiny and new for it to be either of them. With dread filling her stomach, Matilda lifted her head to see Graham Montague and Adrian Pucey.

"What are you doing here, lovey? This isn't your side of town." Montague swished his tongue around his mouth in a manner that sent shivers down Matilda's spine. And not the good ones.

She ignored his question and averted her gaze to her knees.

The boys shifted awkwardly, unused to being ignored. Generally, when they messed with the Gryffindors, they got a reaction – which was what they wanted. She knew better than that, and for the most part of the term, she thought they'd realised she doesn't give a shit about inter-house wars. Apparently not.

Pucey knelt down so that they were eye level, "He asked you a question, Missy. You gonna answer?" He raised a hand and flicked her on the cheek.

Matilda turned her head away, huffing at them. Hurry up, Snape.

He looked up at Montague, "We've found ourselves a difficult one."

"Good thing we have plenty of time to change that and no Gryffindor's to come looking for this one."

Matilda's head snapped up and her eyes narrowed, "Don't you fucking dare."

Matilda had heard about a few girls in her year who had gotten involved with the two Slytherin's in front of her. Flings that had broken off unexpectedly fast, with whispers about them being too physical and aggressive. Assault, some of them murmured.
