In the depths of the Fortress of Meropide lived Wriothesley who spent most of his time in his office. He took the free time to sort out his paperwork as Deakin came in.

Deakin's soft blonde hair sat nicely under his cap. He knocked gently three times on the door before being approved by Wriothesley to come in.

"Your grace, there is a visitor," Deakin peaked in.

Wriothesley's eyes lifted from his paperwork. He looked over at his door, seeing a man in a long white coat and crazy glasses step in with ease.

"Hello, please state your purpose," Wriothesley walked down the steps of his office to see this man eye to eye.

"Wriothesley, what a pleasure it is to see you." The man took a bow before strolling in what seemed to be a machine.

It was high tech, the material used to built it was clean with stainless steal and a vacuum as it's nozzle for main use.

"Have you come to clean my office?" Wriothesley retorted.

"Oh no, no! It's a machine that's very made for you. You see..." the man continued. "I'm a scientist. I have researched your physic and figured that I can make a machine that can warp training dummies for you. Each and every one of them getting stronger and learning your moves after your victory."

Wriothesley raised a brow, seemingly interested in a new training gadget. This could at least bring some form of entertainment in the Fortress for the prisoners.

"Let's give it a quick try," Wriothesley stepped forward. The scientist held the nozzle of the machine and pressed the button of it to bring out what looked like a gigantic robot. It was the size of Wriothesley.

It stood still, waiting for Wriothesley's first move. As he charged at him, the robot got into defence. Then he gave it an unexpected hit to the side with a huge punch of his gauntlets and it broke into pieces.

"It seems the ribcage is the weakness," Wriothesley confirmed his discovery.

"Yup. And there will be new tolerances of weakness each and every time one of them warp."

Another robot warped out. As Wriothesley charged for it this time, it learnt his move and caught his hand.

With widened eyes, he understood what the scientist meant; how it would learn his moves.

Then he broke it to pieces with another hard hit to the ribcage.

The scientist turned it off. "So, how was it?" He spoke as if he was going to make a bargain.

"Looks cool. Wouldn't mind giving it to the people of the Fortress to try—"

"Oh, no. This machine is perfectly designed for you. Your signature moves, and strategies. With you being the lead champion of the Pankration ring, other convicts who use this might die."

"Hm... it shouldn't be that unsafe if it's just boxing to the ground," Wriothesley suggested. "Plus, their weak spot should be pretty straightforward. This might be able to handle the entertainment for the unruly convicts around the Fortress."

Deakin who was analysing the project couldn't get his mind around the safety. Perhaps Wriothesley should look at this in a different perspective than to just accept something like this immediately.

"Y-your grace, I—" Deakin spoke before being interrupted.

"Well then, it's settled. That would be the role of Duke," the scientist smiled, offering a hand out to what Wriothesley was supposed to give out... a role of Duke badge?

His ears perked, surprised from the deal. Just this for the role of the Duke?

"I'm just kidding... 20,000 credit coupons." The scientist handed over the machine to Wriothesley as he exchanged an entire wallet

"Right, right. Of course," Wriothesley chuckled, sighing in relief of the deal.

"Glad to do business with you," the scientist walked away.

"Your grace, that wasn't all of your coupons, right?" Deakin was looking at Wriothesley with a skeptical look. The Duke wasn't just one to agree on everything first glance.

"That was just my daily budget. The Fortress could use something new. Mind helping me take this to the ring?" Wriothesley looked over at Deakin who still appeared to be in suspicion. But later enough, he agreed.

"Of course, your grace."

In the Pankration ring was a new machine. Wriothesley looked at it. It didn't seem to look like any of Teyvat technologies. Perhaps something of the future?

The Duke stared at it further and further. Something about it enticed him. He couldn't understand as to why.

"Is there something wrong, your grace?" Deakin looked over at the warden who continued to stare at the piece of technology. There was a glowing blue button that hummed lightly. Was this really just a machine to warp robots? And from where?

"Deakin," Wriothesley called out, making Deakin straighten up.

"Yes your gra—"

"I want you to look further into this type of machine. Go through the history of this metal's material 093 through the documents of my office," Wriothesley ordered.

With no objections, Deakin immediately did so. Wriothesley went back into his thoughts but shook his head as he found himself way too obsessed with this type of material.

As the Fortress grew to lunchtime, Sigewinne walked into the Pankration ring. "You're not out for any meals Wriothesley?"

"I'll be out soon, don't worry about me, Sigewinne," Wriothesley insisted and Sigewinne left.

There was something soft about him when it came to Sigewinne. Not that she was an adorable little melusine, but that she was there for Wriothesley through his darkest time. Without her, he'd be lost with his senses.

But the enticing presence of the glowing button made Wriothesley want to touch it. Nothing wrong could happen, right?

As he tapped the button, out warped an interesting robot. One that was different in design.

Wriothesley charged at the rib cage, there was no response and then he was easily knocked to the ground as the robot gave a hit.

The robot held an arm, a blue glowing blast was going to shoot at Wriothesley and he tried to dodge it while finding way to land a few hits.

The robot was hard steel, making his hands hurt and bleed. Then as he saw a glowing triangle on its chest, he landed a punch at it.

But it was probably a mistake.

The triangle light glowed bright as Wriothesley found himself having to cover his eyes. With strong suction, he was sucked into a portal that the triangle made.

His body felt limp as the portal tube felt like space. It made him float into what seemed like another dimension. He warped as he felt the strong suction of being brought into another world, and from the stinging pain of the robot, the last thing he saw was the robot following after him before he closed his eyes and blacked out.
