Shub's POV:
"Shub, had to step out for a bit. Be back soon. - Ishan"
Just as I was processing the note, the door creaked open, and in walked Ishu, a beaming smile on his face. In his hands, he held a small blueberry pastry, delicately wrapped in a white box
"Surprise!" he exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "I brought this to celebrate our new fake relationship!"
I couldn't help but laugh, the tension in my chest easing at his playful tone. "A pastry to celebrate our non-existent romance? How very fitting" I teased, taking the treat from his hands.
Ishu plopped down on the bed beside me, his excitement infectious. "Come on, it's a big deal! We're officially in a relationship now, even if it's just for show."
With a playful grin, I broke off a small piece of the pastry and held it up to Ishu's lips. "Have some" I said, my heart racing slightly at the intimacy of the moment. He leaned in, and I could feel the warmth of his breath on my hand as he took the bite, our eyes locking for a brief moment.
"Oh wow, this is amazing!" he exclaimed, his face lighting up with genuine joy. As he chewed, I noticed a tiny speck of cream lingering on his lips. Without thinking, I reached out, my fingers brushing against his skin as I wiped it away. The contact sent a jolt of electricity through me, and I could see the surprise in his eyes mirrored my own.
"Got it," I said, my voice barely above a whisper, the air thick with unspoken words. The moment hung between us, Ishu's gaze lingered on my face, and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest.
"Shub" he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper, "do you think we could really pull this off? This fake relationship?"
I nodded, my heart racing. "I think we can. But it's going to take some... creativity," I replied, a teasing smile playing on my lips.
He chuckled, leaning in closer, the space between us shrinking. "Creativity, huh? Maybe we should start with a practice kiss then?" His playful tone was laced with a hint of seriousness, and I could feel my breath hitch in my throat.
"Practice kiss?"
I echoed, my heart pounding louder. "Is that really necessary?"
"Why not?" he said, his voice low and inviting. "It's all part of the act, right?"
I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks as I considered his words. The playful banter had taken a turn, and suddenly, the idea of kissing him didn't seem so far-fetched.
"Okay," I said, my voice trembling slightly. "Just a quick one."
He leaned in even closer, our faces just inches apart. I could feel the warmth radiating from him, the sweet scent of blueberries lingering in the air. Time seemed to slow as I focused on his lips, the world around us fading away.
"On three?" he suggested, a teasing grin on his face.
"Sure," I replied, my heart racing. "One... two..."
Before I could say three, he closed the distance between us, his lips brushing against mine in a soft, tentative kiss.A soft tremor spread through my body. His lips were plump, glossed with his favorite strawberry chapstick and the aftertaste of pastry. They seemed to invite me in, as if asking for more, drawing me deeper into the kiss.
The sweet, wild taste of blueberry lingered between us, a trace of summer warmth still on his lips, slipping over to mine.I felt an overwhelming urge to savour every second, to memorise the feeling of the warmth of his lips against mine.Ishu's hand found its way to my waist, pulling me closer, deepening the connection between us.
But just as I began to lose myself in the kiss,
* ding dong *
the sudden sound of the hotel room bell rang . In an instant, we pulled away, our faces flushed and breathless. A thin strand of saliva connected us for a brief moment before it broke, leaving a tingling sensation as we broke eye contact. "Wait, I'll get it!" I exclaimed, my heart still racing as I rushed to the door, trying to shake off the lingering warmth of the kiss.
"Good morning! Room service," the waiter said with a polite smile as he wheeled the cart into the room. He set it down and lifted the cover to reveal a beautiful spread of pastries, fruits, and steaming coffee. I turned to Ishu, confusion written all over our faces.
"Did you order breakfast?" I asked, assuming he had arranged this surprise.
Ishu looked just as puzzled. "No, I thought you did!" he replied, scratching his head. "I have no idea where this came from."
As I stood in the corner of the room, I watched Ishu and the waiter with a mix of curiosity and dread. When the waiter revealed the breakfast spread, my heart sank a little. But it was the note resting on top of the covered food that really caught my attention. I leaned in, trying to catch a glimpse of what it said.
The waiter, sensing our confusion, smiled again and said, "Enjoy your meal!" before quietly leaving the room
When Ishu read the note aloud, my face turned beet red.
"I know y'all are doing it ;) Here's food to give you more energy :p - Shreyas."
I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks, and I quickly looked away, pretending to be fascinated by the intricate pattern on the carpet. What was Shreyas thinking? Did he really just say that? My mind raced with thoughts. The playful teasing between us felt innocent, yet the idea of being intimate with Ishu was something I had never seriously considered.
"Seriously, Shreyas?!" I exclaimed, trying to mask my embarrassment. "What kind of breakfast is that supposed to be?"
Ishu chuckled, clearly enjoying my flustered state. "Looks like someone's a little embarrassed," he teased, nudging me playfully.
I shot him a mock glare, but I couldn't help the smile creeping onto my face. "You're just loving this, aren't you?" Ishu said, a teasing grin spreading across his face.
