Carry On (inspirational)

''C'mon sweetie today's the big day!'' 

I groaned and slowly turned over. I looked at my alarm clock and scolded my mother saying , '' why on earth would you wake me up at 4:45 in the morning?!? EXPLAIN!'' ''Oh I see you don't remember what today is.'' ''Is it the day I get to sleep in and travel 6 hours to Ashland University in Ohio the next day?'' I asked hopefully. My mom sighed. '' I'm afraid not'' I could tell she was starting to tear up. '' I'm sorry I know I promised I just can't!'' I was about to give her sympathy when suddenly I was pulled into a bone crushing hug. '' Can't breath! Crushing important organs!'' I said raspily. '' Oops! Sorry! Well come on up up! Seriously you don't want to be late!'' '' No that would be a disaster'' I mumbled. Ok I know what you're thinking how can a poor girl like me afford to go to a well known college let alone university? Well you see I am very smart so I got a lot of scholarships but it was still costing my parents a lot. I was top of my class but that wasn't exactly very hard. The poor kids didn't even know that a lot was two words. I still am very proud of my achievements though. I heard a consistent snapping sound. I turned my focus away from the floor , only to see it was my mother. '' You zoned out again.'' she explained to me. Zoning out seems to be a common problem of mine. '' well come on the car is ready'' my mom said happily. '' Okay is it just me or do you want me gone?'' '' Oh no! Not at all I just don't want the chance to cry or think about how much I am going to miss you.'' I smiled as I thought about my family missing me. '' Wait is dad going to come too?'' ''No he said he would meet us there to help you unpack, he has an early shift at the prison.'' '' Oh okay'' My dad works in a juvenile prison and because they are still considered youth he teaches them. Nothing special or extra like calculus ( math ) just the basics reading, social studies , science, you get the point. My mom and I rode in the car with only the music of the radio for any sound. And the soon caused me to fall asleep only to be waken up 6 hours later in a parking lot. '' Wakey Wakey! But sorry no eggs and bacey.'' I laughed and asked where we were. '' well miss Maddy Jo Hartridge you are looking at the parking lot of your new college!'' I smiled but I still felt more nervous than excited. '' well let's go sign in and them I'm here!'' I said letting the excitement take over. I signed in and found out that my suite was in brenner hall at about the exact opposite place I was standing , well just my luck. Oh yeah that's right I have a suite with not one but 5 roommates I will be living with, that's right be jealous! After vigorous amounts of walking my mom and I finally got there. Soon after looking around I stepped into a room where 5 girls tackled me screaming '' you must be our 6th roommate!''

HA! MINI CLIFF HANGER!

I know I know it was a short chappie! But I don't have a lot of reads  

and I figured who am I hurting?  

So anyways! If you are reading my story PLEASE tell your friends! This is my first book and I would like at least 100 reads and I know it's not that much compared to others but I figured it's a good goal for a beginner like me! Also I know it says she has struggles in the summary and there really aren't any yet but trust me there will be! As for as far as updating goes it will for sure be on Sundays and the rest will be whenever I have time! Also PLEASE comment what you think of it so far! I will be sad if no one does!
