"Emma! Em, wake up!" Katie's urging voice pierced my sweet dreams. Dazed, I sleepily opened my eyes and sat up. "It's time to get up and get your groove on."
I squinted at her through the morning light. She giggled as I said, "Do not ever say that again." I laughed with her.
"Well, hurry up you slowpoke. We gonna get you beautiful!"
"Am I not always beautiful?" I grinned through my messy morning hair with my morning breath.
"Yes, yes you are, Em," she patted my back as she ushered me to the bathroom. She pushed me in and said, "Shower," then she was gone.

When I got out of the shower, Katie was waiting for me in my room. On my bed laid multiple outfits just waiting to be chosen for my wearing.
"I personally think this is the one," she said, gesturing to an outfit that consisted of mint skinny jeans and a white lacy top, furnished with a bow on the back. "It's up to you though," she added.
"I think it's great. It will go great with my long brown hair," I grinned as I envisioned how I might look.
Digging in the closet, Katie grumbled, "Here, pair it with these." She tossed at me my white sandals. I began changing into my outfit. When I was fully dressed, Katie looked at me and beamed. "Total babe, I am so good at this stuff."
"And I am good at making the outfits work," I laughed. "Alright, are we done yet? That was a lot of hassle. I'm hungry." To prove my point, just then, my stomach growled.
"Are you joking me? We need to do your hair and makeup!" she exclaimed.
"My hair is natural waves, Katie. Plus it's all fresh and clean!" I pushed it to her face for emphasis.
She sighed, "Alright, alright. But at least let me do your makeup." She dragged me to the bathroom.
"Just remember: Not too much. You know how I like the natural look." I never wore much makeup. Just some eyeliner to make my green eyes pop, mascara, and a light powder to make my skin glow. I never understood how much makeup some girls could wear. You could always tell that it was plastered on their faces, looking as fake as a Barbie. Worse, I could never understand why most guys were attracted to those girls.
"I know, I know. You just relax and let me do my magic." Katie spun my chair around so I couldn't look in the mirror. This way, the suspense was killing me.
Minutes later, or so it seemed, she spun me around. She had done a little more makeup than I usually do, but I had to admit that I looked stunning. I gasped, "Katie, thank you."
She took in the credit, "Em, you are welcome. Luke is totally going to fall in love with you now!"
"I'm not sure we want that to happen. Then, I would have an upset Jessica eager to get revenge."
"You never know, Em. And you never will if we don't hurry up and get to school!" We quickly gathered all of our stuff and hopped into my car.
******
After first bell rang, I walked down the hall to my locker. As I walked, I noticed a lot more guys noticing me than usual. Hmm, this is kind of nice, I thought to myself. Maybe Katie should beautify me everyday.
