Two months passed quickly, filled with long hours at the studio, countless practice sessions, and grueling hours of vocal training. Jeongin watched as Seungmin poured himself into his training, his determination and passion clear in every note he sang.
But he slowly realized he was falling in love with Seungmin. Which isn't right. One afternoon, Jeongin found himself sitting in the small café where Han works.
"Han," Jeongin began with calm quiet voice "can I ask you something, but promise me you won't laugh or react weirdly?"Han raised an eyebrow, a small grin playing on his face "That depends on what you're about to say," he replied with a mocking tone "Kidding, i won't."
Jeongin took a deep breath, his fingers drumming nervously on his cup. "it's about Seungmin," he said slowly voice dropping even lower.
Han's expression changed with curiosity. He leaned against the counter.Jeongin looked down at his hands, avoiding Han's gaze. "I- I think I might be- Umm, I think I have feelings for him" he confessed, the words barely above a whisper.
Han's eyes widened a fraction, but he otherwise didn't react much. "You're sure?" he asked quietly. "You're not just caught up in the excitement of his career or something?"
Jeongin nodded, his cheeks flushed. He had tried to tell himself that it was just the excitement of Seungmin's dreams coming true, but he couldn't deny it anymore. Every time he saw Seungmin, his heart skipped a beat, his stomach twisted in knots. "I'm sure" he muttered still not looking at Han.
"But it's worthless. Seungmin is so high comparing to me. I'm literally working under him as his typo bodyguard and he belongs to super wealthy, reputed family"
Han frowned, leaning against the counter. "Since when is a person's worth measured by their wealth or their status?"Jeongin gave a small, humorless laugh. "Come on, Han. We both know that's how things work," he said bitterly. "Seungmin is becoming a star, he's getting richer than yesterday, he's going places. I'm just- I'm just someone had been working under him."
Han sighed, shaking his head. "That's a pretty simplistic and frankly, depressing way of looking at things, Jeongin" he said bluntly. "You're more than just a bodyguard. You're his friend, right? You're one of the main reasons he even got this chance to begin with."
Jeongin shook his head "this isn't about friendship or bonds! It's about reality. I think I should make distance from him"
Han raised an eyebrow. " You really think distancing yourself will make these feelings go away?" he asked with skepticism in his voice.
Jeongin knew that Han was right. Feelings couldn't be suppressed so easily, especially not feelings as strong as these "What else can I do, then?" he said, his voice a defeated whisper.
Time skip
Seungmin noticed a marked change in their interactions. The practice sessions, the studio recordings, the late-night talks... It felt like jeongin was slowly pulling away from him, creating a distance that was more than just physical.Oneday
Seungmin decided to talk with Jeongin but he saw Jeongin was laughing at something Bangchan had said, his hand resting casually on Bangchan's arm. They looked comfortably close. An inexplicable jealousy built within him. He clenched his fists by his side, watching as them continued to laugh. Without thinking a sec he rushed to them and grabbed Jeongin's hand.Jeongin left small gasp as Seungmin suddenly grabbed his hand, pulling him forcefully from the room and into a nearby corridor. The area was darkened, barely lit. His back hit the wall with a loud thump. Seungmin pinned him against the wall. He looked up, meeting Seungmin's gaze. There was a fire in his eyes of jealousy.
