COSMO POV:
Cosmo slowly opens his eyes, feeling groggy and a bit disoriented at first. He blinks a few times, his vision gradually clearing to reveal his surroundings the familiar sight of his room, the soft morning light shining through the window. He notices the comforting stillness of the space, the silence broken only by the soft sounds of his own breathing. As the door creaks open, Cosmo is surprised to see Shelly and Vee peering inside his room, their expressions filled with concern. His mind, still a bit foggy from just waking up, quickly tries to assess the situation. "Hey... what's going on?" he murmurs, his voice groggy but curious as he sits up a bit in bed, stifling a yawn.
Vee speaks up first, taking a step towards his bed. "Hey, buddy, how are you feeling?" Shelly adds, her voice laced with worry, concern clear in her eyes as she watches him. "Sprout said you haven't been feeling well for a few days now. We were worried..." Shelly can't help but let out a soft giggle at Vey's worry, as it's not a common sight. She knows how stoic Vee usually, so the fact that she's worried now says something about the seriousness of the situation.
Shelly turns her attention back to Cosmo, her expression a mix of worry and curiosity, "Is there anything we can do for you?" she asks kindly. Cosmo was still a bit groggy from just waking up, tilts his head slightly and decides to ask about something that has been on his mind since last night. "Has... has Sprout come by today?" he asks, his voice a bit rough and groggy. His question holds a hint of worry and a longing to see his friend.
Shelly and Vee exchange a glance, as if they were silently communicating with each other. Shelly then looks back at Cosmo, her expression becoming more reassuring. "He's actually downstairs right now, making some breakfast for you," she explains calmly. "I'm sure he'll be up to see you soon." Vee takes Shelly's hand and gently holds it, a soft and subtle gesture that conveys her affection and concern. Shelly responds with a small smile, feeling the support from her partner, and lightly squeezes Vee's hand in a silent thank you.
A small smile spreads across Cosmo's face as he learns that Sprout is making him breakfast—an act of caring and devotion that warms his heart to the core. The thought of his friend taking time to prepare a meal for him brings a sense of comfort, even though he still feels a bit groggy and disoriented after just waking up. Shelly speaks up, breaking the silence that had settled for a moment. "You should probably get up and go see Sprout. He's been pretty worried about you, you know." Shelly's tone is warm and compassionate, a gentle suggestion tinged with concern, as she encourages Cosmo to come downstairs.
As Cosmo and Shelly catch a faint whiff of smoke, their expressions instantly change to concern. They exchange a quick, worried glance before Shelly turns to Vee. "Vee, can you smell that?" Shelly asks, her tone slightly urgent. Vee, being unable to smell, looks at Shelly and Cosmo with a hint of confusion. "Smell what?" she asks, her brow furrowing slightly as she tries to understand what's going on. Shelly responds with a worried tone, "I think something's burning."
