|2| FIRST DAY OF SENIOR YEAR

Valerie and Scott were at the animal clinic together for Scott's shift before school, last night, Scott had saved those Talons from that werewolf that attacked him last night for Deaton to inspect. Scott was helping a sick dog and Valerie was just sitting on one of the counter tops in there.

"Remember, for intramuscular Injections In the hind leg..." Deaton started.

"Stay clear of The sciatic nerve." Scott finished slowly, as he injected the needle into the dogs hind leg.

"Excellent. Aspirate back to make you haven't hit a vain. Then just keep the needle still." Deaton said to Scott. Scott then took the needle out. Making the dog let out a sharp growl of pain.

"He's a Little one but his teeth are still sharp." Deaton commented. And Scott let out a small chuckle.

"Sorry, Buddy." Scott quietly said to the dog, as he pet said dog. Before he picked the dog up and went over to a little girl who was standing by the archway. Kneeling down and Setting it down next to the little girl.

"Here you go, Stephanie." Scott softly said to the little girl.

"Thank you, Dr. McCall." The little thanked.

"I'm not a doctor yet." Scott said to the little girl before she put her leash on her dog and walked away- probably back over to her parents. And Valerie couldn't help but admire from afar with a
Smile on her lips how gentle Scott was with everybody- even Dogs for Christ sake.

Scott got off of the floor and made his way over to Deaton. Who was inspecting the talons under a ring light. which were clear and kind of Crystal looking.

"Find anything?" Scott asked his boss.

"Maybe...are you sure this guy was a werewolf" Deaton asked, as Valerie got up from where she was sitting to where the two were standing at. "As far as i can tell these claws are actually talons. In fact, they're the talons of a harpy Eagle. One of the largest known birds of prey."

"How the hell does a freaking werewolf get talons?" Valerie asked, inspecting the Talons that was under the light as well.

"Personally, I'm more interested in how these talons somehow were able to absorb your power. The only one that should be able to do that is a beta of Scott's own making." Deaton replied.

"Someone Like Liam." Scott and
Valerie both said in unison.

"Exactly."

"And what if i Someone into my pack Like another beta..."

"I would normally say no...but I'm starting to wonder if the rules to our supernatural rules aren't as rigid as i once thought..." Deaton said, and the tension in the room suddenly turned thick. "Or maybe someone's trying to change those rules..."

Scott and Valerie entered the school building stopping in their tracks and glancing around the corridors.

"Ready to Rock senior year?" Valerie asked Scott as she turned to face the boy next to her.

"You know it." Scott replied, then the two high-fived each other. But that's when Kira came over to the two, Scott wrapped his arm around Kira's shoulder while her arm was wrapped around his waist.

"First day of Senior year." Kira said, the three had big grins on their lips.

"The last day of school ever." Scott remarked. That's when the school bell rang making Scott and Kira break apart, but to Valerie's absolute horror, Kira kissed him before she walked off.
