They all went inside the living room including Suman who was standing in a corner her eyes still blurry and legs trembling while she was feeling very insecure. Till now bappu ji had also made his presence inside the room and he immediately recognized Maya then he looked at Suman but didn't said anything.
"So," Vanraj rubbed his hands against eachother and cleared his throat.
"Maa and bappu ji, as both of you know that I and Maya were in love , but due to bappu ji's promise to her father (He pointed toward Suman .) I was bound to marry her .
Honestly I never liked her actually hated her a lot ..this woman ( He again pointed towards her.) is just a troublemaker . I think I should not even call her a woman ..she don't have any traits of a woman , as she don't even know hoe to make a man happy."
Vanraj took a deep pause whereas for Suman it seemed like the motherearth has just slipped beneath her feets .
She couldn't believe her ears and the man standing in front of her (well she has never believed him.) Since her marriage has taken place, everyday in these two years she has tried every single method to make him happy. But he never ever considered her efforts.
Everyone looked at Suman. Then suhasini was the first one to speak .
"Now, what will you do with her ?" She said in a mere whisper to vanraj .
"Nothing" He replied
"Are you out of your mind!...don't you know that marrying two woman has been declared illegal now." Bappu ji yelled at him. "I know , but it is my life I should be the one to decide that with whom I want to live and I don't want to live a single moment with this disgusting woman ( this time he looked straight into her eyes with a fierce expression but she immediately pulled her long eyelashes down as she remembered the slap she got a few weeks ago.)
"Bappu ji try to understand.." He began
"Her father is a poor peasant, he didn't even gave us much dowry. But Maya , she belongs to a rich family and the most important thing I love her ." Vanraj exclaimed
"Do whatever you want. " bappu ji said angrily and the left the room.
It became very hard for Suman to even stand by then. Her vision started becoming more blurry as she took a step forward her head arched so hard that she itched, she has experienced this pain in the morning too. As she took another step forward she lost her balance and fell down on the floor due to weakness .
Suhasini rushed towards her and told Vanraj to call the doctor.
After a few moments
"Well , it's not a big deal she has fainted due to weakness just make sure she takes her meals properly. " Doctor said and made his way towards the exit . Maya rolled her eyes and while Vanraj made a disgusting face then she said to him .
"Suniye na, I'm feeling very tired and sleepy."
"Okay come ." He said and took her to his room. Suman was sleeping on the carpet of living room and everyone else went to their rooms .
At midnight Maya came out of 'her' room then she glanced at Suman .
"Ohh..you have such a bad luck , look where you are laying but I think you deserve worse for snatching my love away from me . I'll make sure you sleep on bed of throngs. " she said and left while that wicked smile danced on her face .
Next morning
Everyone were sitting on floor in dining area waiting for Maya to serve them her 'peheli rasoi' (the first meal made by her.) Suman was still sleeping out of weakness but as soon as she woke up she rushed towards kitchen . Till then Everyone had already started eating, when suhasini spotted her she said
" Aaiye aaiye maharani ..apka hi intazar tha ."
("Come queen come ..we were waiting for you only." )
Suman was aware of this taunt as she has got it several times before too even if she just gets a minute late .
"There is no need of you here , Maya has already made delicious breakfast for all of us so get out ." Vanraj snapped
"Enough!" Bappu ji said "she is already sick and you both ..well Suman beta come and have something too ."
"Bappu ji..I-I'll eat something after t-taking bath.." she said while holding her veil from one hand and gripping her saree with the other after saying this she left quietly while her anklet bells disturbed the silence.
After 1 hour suhasini and bappu ji left for temple while Suman was preparing something for her which leaves maya alone with Vanraj.
