Their lives couldn't be more beautiful than anything when they were spending times together. Days passed eventually and it was Kartik's birthday the next day.
By evening, she was ready, her plan set in motion. Kartik, busy with work and unaware of what Sara had been up to, had no idea what was coming.
As the clock neared midnight, Kartik was leaning against the headboard of bed scrolling his phone. He had just finished a long day filled with back-to-back meetings, his mind still racing with thoughts of work. Little did he know that something special awaited him outside. He was a bit gloomy as his parents weren’t there to celebrate his day.
At 11:55 p.m. , he was about to wind down from his long day, getting ready to sleep. He had no idea what was waiting for him as the clock ticked closer to midnight. He glanced at his phone, noticing a message from Sara.
"Come outside. Now"
His brows furrowed in confusion. He quickly threw on a jacket and headed downstairs, his curiosity piqued. When he stepped outside his house, he was greeted by the crisp, cool night air, but what caught his attention wasn’t the temperature—it was Sara.
When he stepped into the cool night air, he was greeted by the sight of his front porch transformed. The ground was sprinkled with glowing, phosphorescent paint that formed the words,
"Happy Birthday My Knight!" illuminated softly by the moon's glow. The moonlight was working to illuminate the words.
His breath caught in his throat as he took in the scene. "You did this for me?"
"Umm hmm...come" she smiled.
Sara beckoned him to follow her into the garden. As they walked, something magical happened: with every step he took, soft lights began to illuminate around them, casting a warm glow on the path ahead.
"Sara....",Kartik exclaimed, taken aback by the enchanting sight. It was like his steps were bringing shine to life.
The garden was transformed into a fairyland, with tiny fairy lights strung up among the trees, twinkling like stars against the backdrop of the night sky. The atmosphere was peaceful and romantic, and the moon hung above them, casting its silvery light across the garden.
He was dumbfounded and didn’t know how to say anything. Their hands were in a tight grip with their fingers entangled. He looked at her lovingly kinda emotionally and said,
"Sara...I don’t know what....to say...than.."
She kept her finger on his lips
"Shhh...you deserve everything in this world" Sara said, her voice filled with excitement as she guided him deeper into the garden. "Happy Birthday, Kartik" she whispered softly wrapping her hand around his biceps resting her head on his shoulder.
Kartik's breath caught in his throat as he saw a set up in his garden. In the center was a beautifully set tent illuminated with fairy lights, complete with a blanket adorned with soft cushions, surrounded by fake candles and more glowing lights that flickered gently in the night breeze.
"Yeh bohot khoobsurat hain" he smiled. She took his hand guiding him there and they sat down.
She opened a box and he saw that in awe. It was a tiny cake, adorned with delicate designs that resembled stars and moons. But it was definitely home made.
"Yeh tumne banaya?" he asked, a sense of wonder in his voice.
"Thoda sa help laga" Sara replied, her cheeks flushed with pride. "But I wanted it to be personal and special"
Kartik couldn’t help but smile, his heart swelling with appreciation.
"Ab ghurna bandh karo aur cake kato" she said lighting up the soft candle.
