Considering the task of influencing the values and behavior of students and with the unwavering commitment of every teacher to ensure the educational stability of this nation, recurring problems and factors affecting the totality of students' development, continue to shadow the realization of an intelligent yet humane society.
Teachers are put on the firing line between the educational system including its mars and flaws and the persistence of technology and globalization. A situation where the students are at stake. Expected from them that they dramatically change and sustain a student's immense thirst for knowledge and yet never losing their character.
An integral part of the modern civilization is social media. Needless to say this is gratifying their need for a faster, more accurate, and informative form of communication. But, you might agree with me when i say that this has also delivered us and our students into the verge of neglecting the value of respect, obedience, trust, and privacy.
The teacher, as the persona of "perfection" as this society dictates is at times left to mend such broken culture. An obligation though not directly given has been personally taken. A challenge we blindly embrace unknowing of a greater force that pushes us to the extent of personal and social sacrifice.
You may not be a teacher reading this article, but i am aware you feel the same in your own position.
Science and technology will continue to advance rapidly as we move into the next century. What is important is to ensure that these advances benefit humanity as a whole. That this advancement may not corrupt our students and our children's minds and destroy the tradition of good value formation.
