Scarlett's POV
In the past couple of weeks there have been some big changes. I had Rose, my second daughter, i was worried about y/n's reaction in the beginning when we first told her the news but she took it really well.
But that was before Rose was actually here, y/n has come to the realisation that she now has to share me, which let me tell you she does not appreciate. I do divide my time equally between the two, or so I think? Y/n is four now, she still needs a lot of help but I now have a newborn to think of too.
Today y/n woke up in a clingy mood, it makes me feel bad because I know I can't constantly have her hanging off of me but she still doesn't understand.
Y/n made her way into my room this morning climbing in between me and Colin, it was a normal routine once she got a 'big girl' bed and I no longer had to free her from the prison like crib. She soon got bored and went to get her teddy to bring back.
Y/n spotted Colin first but made a beeline towards me after seeing i had Rose in my arms feeding her. I looked up at her with a warm smile as she stood next to me reaching her hands out.
"Mama" y/n said making grabby hands to me, she was a short four year old, might I add freshly four "mama up"
" baby I gotta feed your sister, why don't you go cuddle with daddy for a little while and then we can have cuddles afterwards" I said cupping her cheek
"Not want daddy! Want you!" Y/n stomped her foot, furrowing her eyebrows.
It was too early for a tantrum and the guilt was slowly eating away at me that I couldn't give her my full attention anymore.
"Well why don't you sit in the middle then and I promise mama will give you cuddles after" I say trying to meet in the middle.
Luckily Colin steps in and scoops her up tickling her sides to distract her.
"Daddy stop" y/n says through giggles
After Colin let's her go she shuffles over to me trying to climb on my lap. I move Rose to the side as much as I can which she doesn't appreciate letting out a small cry.
"Mamas gonna go downstairs, you want some breakfast?"
"Cuddle?" Y/n asks again
"Yes baby afterwards" I say stroking her hair
"Now" y/n demands
"No after breakfast" I firmly state losing my patience as I feel like we are going round in circles.
In return i get a teddy thrown at me which luckily just about misses me and Rose instead bouncing off of the headboard landing next to Colin.
"Y/n, we do not throw stuff at people. Especially mama and Rosie" Colin says picking up the teddy and making his way over to y/n.
Letting out a sigh, i move to the door but am stopped when I feel a tug at me pyjama bottoms.
"Mama carry me" Y/n asks putting her hands up in the air
"Y/n your a big girl, cmon hold my hand and we can walk together" I say holding an arm out
Instead of taking my hand y/n slaps my hand away and runs off ahead towards the stairs which I cringe at not wanting her to run down them.
"Y/n do not run down the stairs!" I shout hoping she can hear me, she definitely did but continued to run ignoring me.
We have a defiant y/n on our hands today. She's been acting up since Rose was born, i think she feels left out at the moment. She used to be the baby of the family but now has a little sister, she hardly interacts with Rose but hopefully things will get better once she realises we aren't replacing her.
