"I'm so sorry I couldn't make it" I said apologetically in the noisy airport.
"It's ok Sonali I get it we can meet when you get back to India and we'll go out and you can make it up to me by buying me dinner" Mariam said through the phone trying to lighten the mood since I was so apologetic.
I had gone to Italy for a big project which meant I had to miss Mariam's fashion show which was so unfair. I had texted her yesterday congratulating her and I called her today at the airport to apologize cause I felt so bad.
After we talked a bit on the call It was time to board my flight so I said goodbye to her and when I got on the plane I had an empty seat next to me which rarely happened so I got happy about that.
But at the last minute a guy with a cat shirt came in and sat right next to me. First of all why is he wearing a cat shirt and that too why is the cat having a fish tail and why is the cat in space. Is he like some cat nerd type creep or something. I didn't even realize I was staring until-
"I was running late and this was the only shirt I could find, don't worry I am not some cat nerd type creep" He said like he was reading my mind and smiled
I felt so embarrassed and I gave an awkward smile back and said
"Sorry I didn't know I was staring"
"It's ok" He said and opened his laptop to work
I quickly did the same. I was working on a museum in Italy where we had to do complicated designs but it turned out quit magical and I was so happy with the end result. I had to reply to emails and send a presentation of the work I did to my boss and his boss and his boss, basically it was a pretty big project where I had to come to Italy and back to India many times but now that I'm finally finished I can go back home and rest.
After I completed my work I opened youtube, put on my earphones, where I was lip singing to a concert where Taylor Swift was singing August. I was so into the music I didn't know I was vibeing to the music and dancing in my seat. The cat guy next to me suddenly looked at me and chuckled. I paused and took my earphones of and looked at him confused.
"Please continue miss Taylor, sorry for disturbing your concert" He said chuckling
I chuckled with him "Guess I was too into it" I said
I offered him one of my ear phone and he gladly took it. we both started vibeing and dancing to Taylor swift. We both started doing dramatic face reactions to her lyrics and laughed at each other. To be honest I'm a very Introverted person and I don't like to talk to anyone but he is just.. different. The concert ended.
"Taylor Swift is such a vibe" I said closing my laptop
"Your really fun" He said smiling
"Thanks, you are too" I said smiling mirroring his actions
