NASA Ames
At my desk, ready to go for the day, but only been here for an hour. I love my career, I truly enjoy it. It's just its been almost three weeks that this woman Chloe has been here...
And let's just say she will not leave me alone. Literally. Alex, this, Alex, that.
I get it they put her on my team and not Ryans, but damn. I already have six people. Now I have been trying to get this woman to learn about our engine we are putting in tomorrow and she acts as if she doesn't have the qualifications for this job.
It's annoying. Truly annoying.
"Is she dumb?" Courtney asked me.
"She has to be, because why didn't she know what carbon-fiber-reinforced silicon carbide composites are?" I asked.
"Who she fuck to get here?" Zachary asked joining us.
Someone, because there is no way in hell," Courtney said.
"She is a bimbo, she just asked me where the wrench was holding the fucking wrench. Can I go on lunch?" Nina said.
"Yeah, everyone take a break, I will talk to her."
I shook my head and walked over to her.
"Hey, where is everyone going?" She asked.
"A needed break, what's going on? You have these qualifications, but you don't know what a wrench is?"
She started laughing.
"I never said that. I have my degrees just like everyone else here. I just like you helping..."
"Umm, no thank you. Do I need to have John speak to you?" He was the head of our entire department.
"We built an engine for a space ship, if it fails while people are in it, that's on us. Get it together."
"Yes, ma'am, I will," she said looking me up and down.
I walked away from her and back over to Courtney.
"Please talk to John," she said.
"Oh, I am. Have you talked to Staffani?" I asked.
"Your girlfriend, since she just started talking to me last week. Two weeks before Christmas now she wants to talk to me. She wants presents."
