On Saturday morning, Lisa was detectably floating on the clouds when Rosé handed her the bag with the dress, a perceptive little smirk gracing her lips. She had expected this—the quiet way her friend handled things with grace. Even if Park had said she only paid one thousand won for cleaning, she knew better. Rosé had likely paid much more.

So, in return, she decided to spend the evening with Rosé, binge-watching shows, and unwinding. It seemed like the perfect way to repay her friend’s generosity. Not like Park will take anything in return. But first, she had a task to complete—returning the dress to Jennie Kim.

At the office, she confidently placed the bag on a table, half expecting some acknowledgment. Regardless of its true form, the woman didn’t even glance at it. She just kept working, as though the expensive dress meant nothing at all. Lisa stifled an eye roll and didn’t let it bother her. The day would only get better.

She spent the rest of her time with the financial team, and to her surprise, Mr. Kang was thoroughly impressed by her suggestions and interference. Even Mr. Lee had approved of her input. BamBam, ever the social butterfly, while dropping some copies at her boss’s desk, teased her with a grin. “You’re sunshine today, Snowball. Drinks later?”

“Sorry, got plans,” she said brightly, fully aware that those pairs of brown eyes were on her at that time. She chose to ignore it; she wasn’t letting anything pull her down. She had dressed to feel good—her long beige pants paired with a single-breasted oversized pink blazer had caught a few admiring glances, and she smiled at anyone who gave her a nod of appreciation.

In the early evening, she was adjusting some files on her desk before leaving when the dulcet voice rang out from the office. “You declined BamBam’s offer. Is there... someone special?” Peculiar as it is, Jennie Kim sounds interested.

For a second, the question caught her off guard. ‘Isn’t this a bit too personal? Why does she even bother to know?’ Nevertheless, she kept her face alight without concealing her pleasure. “Just making time for a friend. A girls’ night. You should also spend time with your loved ones. It’s a nice break from work…”

As the words left her mouth, she halted. She didn’t need to glance up to feel the searing stare piercing upon her. With a tight swallow, Lisa risked and instantly regretted it. Feline eyes were locked onto hers, biting back a silent warning. I dare you to repeat that, Manobal. I dare you.

Lisa forced a polite smile, desperately trying to save herself. “I’ll, um… take my leave now. Have a good night, Ma’am.”

By the time she got back to the apartment around 6:30 PM, Rosé was knee-deep in her latest masterpiece with the brush in her hand gliding over the canvas with quick strokes. Ever since meeting Jisoo Kim, Roseanne Park had been on an artistic high, filled with more inspiration than ever. It was great, really, except for the lavender. Lisa was seriously starting to worry about her friend’s sudden obsession with that color.

Clearing her throat, she waved the bag of chicken that brought from Rosé’s favorite spot.“Dinner’s here!”

Adorably Rosé's eyes lit up as she bounced over to the couch. They settled in, chicken in hand, with Lisa’s laptop perched in front of them. “Let’s watch something fun,” she said, scrolling through their options before landing on Gilmore Girls.

Just as they were nearing the second season, laughing at Lorelai and Rory’s banter, past 9 her phone rang. The display illuminated with a name that instantly soured her mood: Jennie Kim.

Rosé threw her a meaningful look, halfway chastising. “You better not be leaving. It’s almost nine-thirty.”

“It could be an emergency,” Lisa sighed, lacking any true emotion. Her boss even had arranged a VIP taxi, which meant now she didn’t have much choice in the matter. She grabbed her jacket and bag.
