Diane then asks the group if they plan to attend Jesse's Halloween party that evening, to which they all enthusiastically agree before heading to the park to hang out. Later, Principal Gray concludes his discussion with the police and returns to his office, where he receives a call from the killer. Their conversation escalates until the killer emerges from the closet and fatally stabs him multiple times in the chest. That night, Jesse's Halloween party is in full swing, with everyone enjoying themselves. The friends arrive in their costumes: Britney and Ben are dressed as Regina George and Aaron Samuels, Ella is an angel, Diane is a sexy clown, August is a fairy, and Lori is Princess Cinderella. Beverly and her cameraman Bruce arrive at the party, where she encounters Keeton. They engage in conversation about the festivities before deciding to explore the event together, during which Bruce discreetly hands her a camera. As they enter the lively party scene filled with revelers enjoying themselves, Beverly sets up the camera in the living room to live stream the event, allowing viewers at home to experience the celebration. Guests are seen drinking, smoking, and dancing. Meanwhile, Jesse pulls Britney aside to suggest going upstairs, but she declines, mentioning that Diane has a significant crush on him. Intrigued, Jesse heads over to Diane, and they make their way upstairs. In a different part of the house, Bonnie goes to the bathroom, and while there, she hears strange noises coming from behind the shower curtain. When she pulls back the curtain, the killer emerges, leading to a scream that goes unheard amidst the loud music. As the clock strikes 10 PM, the party begins to wind down, with guests starting to leave. Britney and Ben decide to head upstairs, while August, Ella, and Lori join the jocks downstairs for a smoke. They begin a game of truth or dare, opting for increasingly daring challenges, such as August kissing Mike. Meanwhile, Beverly and Keeton take a stroll in the darkness, discussing the realities of being a police officer and a well-known news reporter. Back at the house, the phone rings, and Futler picks it up, visibly stunned by the conversation. After hanging up, he informs everyone that Principal Gray has died, discovered hanging from the school's front door. The jocks immediately spring into action, rushing out of the house to investigate, leaving August, Ella, and Lori behind. Meanwhile, upstairs in the bedroom, Britney and Ben engage in passionate, intense intimacy. Once they finish, they dress and begin discussing their lives. Downstairs, Jesse and Diane enter the living room, where they find August, Ella, and Lori on the couch. Jesse invites them to join him at the pool, and they agree. Back upstairs, Britney prepares to share something significant with Ben, expressing that he might not believe her. Just as she is about to reveal it, the killer bursts through the door, prompting Britney to scream as the attacker lunges at Ben. Britney leaps into the fray, initiating a confrontation. Ben seizes the assailant and urges Britney to escape, but the attacker retaliates by punching Ben through a mirror. The assailant then pursues Britney down the hallway. She makes her way to the attic, barricading the door and opening a window just as the killer breaks into the room. Britney climbs out onto the rooftop, but the killer follows, cutting her off and knocking her down, causing her to tumble off the edge. Quickly recovering, she flees. Meanwhile, at the pool area, the friends engage in conversation about their future plans after graduation. August suddenly remembers he left his phone inside and heads back to retrieve it, unaware that the killer is lurking behind him. He swiftly grabs his phone and walks away, oblivious to the danger. Outside, Britney rushes to Beverly's camera van, banging on the door until Bruce lets her in, and they secure the entrance. Britney informs him that the murderer is inside the house, and Bruce responds by indicating that there is a livestream camera set up, allowing them to see August searching for his phone, unaware that the killer is lurking behind him. Britney yells for August to turn around, but Bruce warns her about a 30-second delay before he rushes to save him. As Bruce opens the van door, the killer swiftly slits his throat, prompting a terrified scream from Britney. In a desperate attempt to escape, Britney tries to shut the door, but the killer stabs her in the shoulder. She retaliates by kicking him down, manages to close the door, shatters the van window, and leaps out. She then sprints down the street. Meanwhile, Beverly and Keeton return to the house to find the front door ajar, leaving them puzzled. Keeton enters to check on everyone while Beverly heads back to her van. Searching for Bruce, Beverly discovers his lifeless body, screams in horror, and rushes back to her van to flee. As she drives away, she spots Britney signaling for help, but in her panic, she veers off the road and crashes into a ditch. Britney is compelled to dash back to the house to summon Deputy Keeton, only to discover him lifeless on the porch. The assailant then emerges from the house and pursues her once more. In a frantic escape, Britney reaches the police car and secures the doors, but the attacker forces his way inside, stabbing her repeatedly. Just in time, Jesse intervenes, delivering a powerful kick that knocks the assailant down. Ella opens the car door, and the friends assist Britney in getting out. They quickly retreat back into the house, where Britney retrieves Keeton's firearm, and they lock the door behind them. Jesse, bewildered, demands to know what is happening. August is in tears over his father's death, and the friends rally to comfort him. Britney and Ella resolve to explain the truth to their friends, revealing that they are from the year 2024 and have traveled back in time to prevent Britney's mother, Diane, from dying in the future. The group is left in stunned silence, but before they can process the revelation, the killer reappears in the living room, followed closely by a second assailant. Panic ensues as the friends scream and scatter in different directions. August ascends the staircase, enduring multiple stabs to his legs from the assailant. In a moment of defiance, he retaliates by kicking the attacker in the face, causing the assailant to tumble down the stairs, allowing August to flee back upstairs. Meanwhile, Ella and Britney are captured, with Britney being forcefully thrown through a glass table. Ben and Jesse rush in to rescue the girls, but a second assailant appears and stabs Jesse in the back. The first killer then plunges a knife into Ben's stomach. In a desperate bid for safety, Ella, Diane, and Lori retreat to the basement, where they engage in a tense game of cat and mouse with the killers. Unfortunately, both assailants corner them, stabbing Ella in the stomach and Lori in the back. Diane attempts to fend them off but suffers a deep cut to her arm. Lori tries to distract the killers by swinging a log at them, but the attacker evades her and stabs her in the stomach. As Lori falls on the floor, the killers drag Ella and Diane into the kitchen. Suddenly, Britney leaps into action, stabbing one of the killers in the hand, prompting a scream from him. In retaliation, the other killer stabs Britney in the arm and sends her crashing into the counter. The second assailant quietly exits as the first removes his mask, revealing himself to be David. Diane is taken aback, and David launches into a chilling monologue, explaining how Diane's mother had given him up for adoption, leaving him with a life of hardship while Diane enjoyed the life he always wanted. He ominously suggests that Diane will come to appreciate the second assailant. At that moment, Britney stands beside Diane, and suddenly, August enters the room, leaving both Diane and Britney in shock. However, the second killer, Elizabeth—Murray's mother—holds a gun to August's head. Elizabeth forces August closer to Diane and Britney, driven by a desire for revenge, as she blames Britney for her son's death and intends to take her life in return. Just as Elizabeth aims her weapon at Britney, August lunges at her, bringing her to the ground. Meanwhile, Britney and Diane turn their attention to David, engaging him in a fierce struggle in the living room. They manage to throw him onto the couch and hurl glasses at him. In the chaos, David retaliates by kicking Diane down and seizing Britney to choke her. Undeterred, Diane rises, seizes a statue, and strikes David on the head. He collapses, and Diane relentlessly disfigures his face with the statue. She hurls the statue to the floor and takes a moment to collect herself. Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Elizabeth and August engage in a fierce struggle for the gun, exchanging punches and bites. The weapon slips from their grasp, and August seizes Elizabeth, forcefully smashing her head against the stove and then the refrigerator. Dazed, Elizabeth is lifted by August and slammed into the corner of the counter. In a desperate move, she grabs a knife and slashes August's arm, causing him to stumble near the sink. As Elizabeth lunges at him with the knife, August retaliates by grabbing another knife, cutting her arm before stabbing her in the stomach, then in the throat, and finally in the face. Elizabeth succumbs to her injuries, and August discards her body, sitting alone in the kitchen. The sound of police sirens pierces the morning air as the sun rises, marking 6 AM. Outside the crime scene, all of their friends are safe, and Ella tells Britney that she believes it's time. Britney and Ella then inform their friends once more that they are from the future. Diane expresses doubt about Britney being her daughter, to which Britney affirms, revealing a pocket watch and explaining that it serves as their time travel device. Britney expresses that while they have managed to preserve the past, she is uncertain about the future, but there is only one way to discover the outcome. Before she can proceed, Ben interjects, insisting that he will accompany her. Overwhelmed with emotion, Britney begins to cry, telling Ben that he belongs in 2007 and that 2024 is not meant for him. They share a kiss, followed by a group hug with their friends. Britney and Ella then step aside, placing their hands on the pocket watch. As Britney turns back the clock, both she and Ella experience an out-of-body sensation, accompanied by a brilliant beam of yellow light emanating from the pocket watch. They scream as everything around them fades to white, and they vanish. Left behind are Diane, Jesse, Lori, Ben, and August, who walk away together, concluding their journey. Meanwhile, in the future, on November 1, 2024, Britney and Ella find themselves transported outside, bewildered by their surroundings. Upon exiting, they discover they are in front of Diane's house. Britney unlocks the door with her phone and goes inside with ella. An older JJ suddenly appears, remarking that they look as if they have been run over. Britney and Ella are feeling perplexed. When Britney spots her mother approaching down the hallway, she appears cheerful. Her mother inquires about her well-being and what has transpired. Britney fabricates a story, claiming she stayed at Ella's house for a few days and it is merely fake blood. leading to a narration from Britney. She explains that Diane and Jesse welcomed both her and JJ on the same day, and they still reside in Sunnydale.
