Britney expresses her indifference towards saving others, stating that her sole focus is on rescuing her mother and preventing her death. Ella suggests that since they are already in this situation, they could also intervene to stop Murray and Ash from their killing spree, thereby sparing Diane years of anguish. Britney reluctantly agrees, putting away the pocket watch, and decides they will figure things out as they go. Later that evening, Britney and Ella are at Lori's house, where they plan to stay until their mission is accomplished. The girls discuss their strategy to take down Murray and Ash, with Ella emphasizing the need for solid evidence of their admissions to the murders. At that moment, Britney receives a phone call, leaving both her and Ella puzzled, as Britney is unaware that she can receive calls from the future. Ella speculates that it might be Diane. When Britney answers, she finds herself speaking to a man. She steps out of the room to continue the conversation, engaging in a casual exchange. The man inquires if she enjoys horror films, to which she responds affirmatively, naming Halloween as her favorite. The man inquires if she is by herself, to which she replies negatively. He then reveals that he is observing her from the front porch. Britney steps outside to investigate, only to find no one there. She laughs, thinking it's a prank, but the assailant warns her, "If you hang up, I'm going to gut you like a fish." Fear grips Britney as she retorts, "Fuck you," before ending the call. As she approaches the stairs, the killer suddenly emerges from the closet and assaults her. Britney screams, alerting Lori and Ella upstairs. The two rush downstairs to find Britney under attack. They join forces to fend off the assailant, but a second killer appears at the front door, brandishing a knife and taunting them. The trio then flees through the house, ultimately finding themselves cornered in the kitchen. Armed with knives, they prepare to confront their attackers. Britney engages one of the killers, while Ella and Lori take on the other. Britney manages to slam her assailant against the wall and stabs him in the abdomen. Ella delivers a kick to the second killer, and Lori removes his mask, revealing Ash. Shocked, Lori exclaims, "ASH?" just before he retaliates, knocking both her and Ella to the ground. Britney removes the mask from her assailant, revealing it to be Murray. She remains unfazed as he forcefully pushes her against the counter, prompting her to scream. In a struggle, Murray begins to choke her, but she retaliates by striking him with a pan, causing him to fall. She then opens the freezer door, knocking down Ash, who was attempting to tackle her. Both Ella and Lori stab Ash, eliciting a scream from him. Murray suddenly reappears and lunges at Britney. In response, she turns on the hot water and submerges Murray's hand beneath it, making him scream in pain. She then kicks him into the counter, seizing a knife to stab him in the face. The girls stand in shock, and Lori declares her intention to call the police. Later that evening, law enforcement arrives to place Murray's lifeless body into a body bag, while Ash is taken away in a police vehicle. The following day, on October 24, 2007, Britney, Lori, and Ella visit the police station, where they are joined by Diane, August, and Charlie, who inquire about the situation. Deputy Keeton informs them that Ash has confirmed both he and Murray were responsible for Gary's murder and had been planning a series of killings. Britney asserts, "I told you so," and Keeton expresses gratitude for her assistance. Diane, August, and Charlie approach them, and Diane inquires how she knew. Britney responds that it was a matter of basic instinct. Diane expresses her gratitude for their rescue, to which Britney replies that it was no trouble and wishes them a wonderful life. Afterward, Britney departs, followed by Ella and Lori. They exit the police station, where Britney and Ella share their excitement about having rectified the past, resulting in her mother's revival. Britney is astonished that their plan succeeded, while Ella expresses hope that life back home will be significantly improved. Britney shares that she wishes for the same outcome. Lori thanks them once more, and they embrace her. Britney encourages Lori to live the beautiful life she never had the chance to experience. Lori assures her that she will, and both Britney and Ella place their hands on the pocket watch, with Ella turning back the clock to October 23, 2024. They begin to experience an out-of-body sensation as a beam of yellow light emanates from the pocket watch, causing Britney and Ella to scream as everything fades to white. In the present day, Ella and Britney opens their eyes and everything seems normal and they decide to go back home. Ella goes back home and Her mother greets her, mentioning that she is late for school. Confused about the events that transpired, Ella leaves her house again. Meanwhile, Britney returns home and rings the doorbell. A white man answers and greets her. Britney is confused and asks him if Diane Mayor is home, but the man informs her that no one named Diane lives there and suggests she may have the wrong address. Britney, perplexed, asks if this is not Diane Mayor's residence, to which he replies negatively, stating he lives there with his wife Judy and their two sons, Michael and John. Ella, taken aback, questions the term "girlfriend," and Brandon insists that he is indeed dating her. Britney clarifies that he is with her, not Ella, prompting Brandon to ask who even is she. Realizing the implications, Ella and Britney looks at each other and runs away, while Brandon inquires if she is alright, to which she responds that she has made a mistake. They run down the hallway until Britney sees a memorial for the 2007 Sunnydale massacre. Ella and Britney are shocked and Britney says that they didn't save them, they only made it worse. Which means that if Diane is dead, Britney doesn't exist. They both head to the school bathroom, retrieves the pocket watch, and rewinds the clock to October 24, 2007. As they experiences an out-of-body sensation, a beam of yellow light emanates from the pocket watch, causing Ella and Britney to scream as everything fades to white. When they regains consciousness, they finds themselves in the schools bathroom. Exiting the stall, they see Lori who is shocked to see them and asks them why they came back and they reveal to her that another massacre is imminent, which will lead to the deaths of both her and Diane, indicating that Lori is also at risk. Lori is taken aback by this revelation, prompting Lori to ask if they have a new murder mystery to investigate. Ella confirms this, noting that the perpetrators of the previous massacre were never apprehended. The three of them then leave the bathroom and rush out into the hallway to find Diane, August, and Charlie. Britney calls out to Diane, warning her of the impending danger. Diane appears puzzled, and Ella clarifies that a new murder massacre is about to occur, targeting Diane and her friends, which could result in their deaths. Ella emphasizes that the killer will escape, leaving the case unresolved. Shocked, Diane expresses her belief in their warning and asks what they should do next. Britney suggests that all six of them should stay together at all times. The town of Sunnydale is reeling from the revelation that Murray and Ash are responsible for Gary White's murder. Meanwhile, Ash's cousin, Ben, is facing relentless bullying at school, leading the community to label Murray and Ash as the "devils of Sunnydale." At Sunnydale High, students Britney, Diane, Ella, August, Charlie, and Lori are navigating the hallways when Diane shares the latest school gossip. August suggests that Britney and Ella should connect with him on MySpace, to which they respond with confusion about what MySpace is, leaving him astonished and branding them as uncultured. As they walk, they spot Ben being mocked by other students, prompting feelings of sympathy. Diane informs them that Ben is related to Ash. Britney expresses her disapproval of bullying in 2007, but is suddenly confronted by Bonnie, who is pregnant and accusing her of killing her baby's father. Britney is taken aback as Bonnie clarifies that Murray is the father of her child, shocking Diane with the news of Murray's infidelity. Bonnie reveals she is six months pregnant and accuses Britney of having a hand in Murray's death. Britney claims that Murray was attempting to harm her, leaving her with no alternative. The entire hallway is now focused on the situation, prompting Principal Gray to intervene and clarify the events. Bonnie warns Britney to be cautious. Principal Gray instructs everyone to return to their classes, and Britney rolls her eyes before following Diane to their classroom. In Gym Class, the girls change and notice the boys running. Ben catches Britney's eye, and she feels a pang of sympathy for him. During the session, Ben is seen playing basketball alone, prompting Britney to approach him and pick up the ball. He expresses his gratitude, and she introduces herself. Britney apologizes for the negativity he has been facing, to which he responds that it's alright and he likely deserves it due to his cousin's actions. Britney insists that he does not deserve such treatment, emphasizing that his cousin is the real criminal, not him. Ben listens attentively, and Britney expresses her desire to be his friend. He admits that he doesn't have many friends, but she assures him that he has one today. Ben smiles, which brings joy to Britney. On the opposite side of the gym, August inquires about Britney's conversation with the emo boy, to which Diane replies she is unsure. Ella chimes in, praising Britney as a genuinely nice person, and then pulls out her phone to check her reflection in the camera. August, intrigued, asks how she has a mirror on her phone. Ella clarifies that it's a camera, and they decide to take a picture together.
